    No need.

Since my ESO account was a regular PC account before it was linked to Steam, I can play through the regular launcher.

I also have all the DLC/Chapters purchased for my ESO account, not through Steam. So I maintain access no matter which launcher I use.

Finally, I sub through ZOS, not through Steam. That way I keep access to my sub when Steam goes down.

I basically only play through Steam for social reasons, but it's no sweat off me when it goes down.

My account was created without steam and linked to it after, so I'm able to use non-steam launcher.
Steam is very convenient for buying crowns and apply subscription.

I can, but only because my ESO account was a regular launcher account first before it was linked to Steam.

I still have the Download Game button on my account page.

I would rather ZOS allow all users to use their launcher. The only reason I use steam is I prefer to use game cards over credit cards and other such internet piracy-laden usages.

I guess it would be better to ask people if they would like the option to un-link.

I personally don't want to un-link. But I'm not opposed to others having the option to do so.

I would like to un-link. I don't use Steam for my subscription, or otherwise. My friends and I use Discord to communicate. I avoid Steam as much as possible these days. It's a shame I am tethered to them and their lousy software.

Not at my PC or I'd screencap it.

Only ESO accounts that were made outside of Steam get that button.

Also important: If you sub through Steam, that button disappears, even if your ESO account was originally a regular account. Unsubbing/Letting it expire from Steam will return the download button.

Whoah. Well, back in the day I was smirking at this "Here's a CD key go make an account and activate it" thing.
Guess who's not laughing now... :(

... I want to go back 10-20 years where this "Let's integrate everything with anything else" policy did not exist. Where if you wanted to use a service, you had to register for it. Where you wanted to fix your sound card, you unsoldered a chip and soldered a new one on top ...

Seriously now I want to start a company and make a game just to figure out whether this is Valve's policy, or is it ZOS who purposefully do it in such a bad way.

Yeah, I have access to everything on both platforms. I buy everything for my ESO account, not through Steam. It just happens to be accessible through Steam anyway.

I always encourage people I know to buy keys/codes/etc for their actual ESO account rather than buying through Steam, for this reason.

This. I initially bought the game on Steam, but I have bought the Morrowind chapter non-Steam. I can log in via the eso64.exe just fine and have access to Summerset that I bought through Steam.

That being said, I'm sick of the amount of times that I can't use the Steam client to log into the game. It happens way too frequently only for Steam users recently, so I'd rather just use the non-Steam client all the time.

    Hi,

I voted yes because although I like the concept of Steam, I dislike these interruptions.

Moreover, if this would last day(s) and one is running an ESO Plus membership, what will happen then? Will we get compensation time for the time we could not use?

I hope we will have a comment from some officals regarding the Steam Issues. This Celabration Weekend and their disrespect against a lot of Players (showing up as "we do not communicate while we are on party")is a shame !

Not sure why people would use an unnecessary third party to play games anyhow... Not only do you need to worry about issues with the first party, you need to the third party as well.

That only works for people who bought ESO (via Steam) way back then (one and a half year, two years ? something like that). It doesn't work for those who bought ESO after that point in time.

Really, I'd prefer they just fix the issues, though, so I can still be on Steam. I'm worried that If I try to unlink the account now, it might cause even more problems.
I'm really, really regretting buying on Steam, though. :/

Yeah, well, when I bought via Steam in the last days of November 2016 there were no issues with Steam (other than the fact of it existing and being used by so many game companies, but that's another point) anyone could have reviewed. So reading didn't help. ;)
