Class Idea - Chaotic Mage - or Chaotic Magic

Allow me to preface this by stating that I have never played a mage character in RPG's/MMORPG's - it's just not my style of play. I can definitely see the benefit, especially in ESO where the mages seem to have such an upper-hand in battles, but I have always preferred the rogue-like characters overall. Running around tossing out fireballs looks like it could be fun, but I would always go back to sneaking around dungeons - and it's tough to be sneaky when there is a large shiny staff stuck to your back...

Anyway - Chaos Magic would be an area I could get behind and a character I could see as an optional build worth exploring. Someone in another thread mentioned the addition of LUCK as a skill line (how one would develop something as intangible as luck would be a discussion worth having...) but such a skill line could be used to increase the benefit/likeliness of a chaotic mage being able to cast something that is useful.

While building such a character, however, the effects of the magic being cast are - well - chaotic. These spells could be immensely powerful on one end of the spectrum, or suicidal on the other - all relating back to the characters LUCK skill, along with passives and activated skills available for use.

For instance, I could cast a gravity well to form, locking the boss - or other unfortunate being - into the area. Preventing them from moving for a period of time and doing gravity damage as a benefit, BUT, I could also cast a spell where my character is simply turned into a frog for a set amount of time and I need to try and stay alive long enough for the effects to wear off.

As an added benefit, I don't believe I have ever seen or read details on such chaotic magic in the world of Elder Scrolls - so this could even spawn a whole new storyline/subset of story that could have a great deal of potential.

Just a thought. Anyone else interested in seeing this sort of character build?

Reminds me of Baldurs Gate. Unfortunately on a MMO you can have either a OP skill line, a useless skill line, or infinite amounts of trolling there.

Frankly, the RNG in ESO is bad enough. A skill line based on it?

    No, thanks!

(Although, may be interesting for a single-player RPG).
