Abyssal Geyser Farming Tips?

Been trying to active farm these for drops but It doesn't seem as if they have a discernible pattern like dolmens. After I complete one I will check the nearest geysers in the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions and they never come up right away. I then proceed to teleport around the island looking for the next one and it's some random one across the map from the last one destroyed. What is the best way you have found to farm geysers?

Also is it just me or is the drop-rates for the motifs from the geysers are really bad? I have my Psijic skill line maxed out and have completed over 30 geysers and gotten one motif. Any insight appreciated.

They are kind of annoying in my opinion. The spawn patterns are messed up. But I can see why though. Look at your friendly Alikr dolmen. What a crap show those are. :)

I’m already sick of not getting motifs, and not even one dang CL.

I agree on the annoying part @Tan9oSuccka

Farming these is frustrating and not rewarding because the drop rates are too low.

I don't even do the daily for geysers, I don't like standing around.

Instead of standing at one i port around to each wayshrine nearest the geyser and ride to a point where I'd be able to see the pink beam to see if it is up. If it isn't i go port to another wayshrine and check a different one.

However this is incredibly exhausting and frustrating so i was hoping there was a funky pattern some on here had deduced.

Get at least two other guildies, group up and after one is over, each one port to one of the other three. Whoever has it call it out and all port to them.

I just fish in sight of a geyser, and when it spawns, I go fight it, then go back to fishing.

I port between 2 geysers that aren't going right after each other because I like to loot all the alkahest and rubedo leather and that takes a little time. Waiting a bit for the geyser to start is fine since I dont have to feel rushed to get there.

It seems that the geysers, unlike dolmen, have all individual timers. You can quite often see that more than one is up at the same time in the Alinor 'bay' area. So there is no pattern as to in which order they show up.

I agree. Fishing in between can kill the time a bit, but sadly many people are doing the same. The fishing holes are usually gone.

I hope they bump up the drop rates. I play quite a bit, and I genuinely wonder how casual folks with kids/family stuff can even have a chance.

Dolmens also have individual timers, but if there is a dolmen group going, they get them spawning in a neat rotation.

The dolmens of alik’r run clockwise because that’s the consensus of movement of the players.

Each dolmen has its own cool down timer. If they are all left alone for a bit, you could start the cooldown order to be counterclockwise.

The geysers seem to be acting the same way, but it’s hard to get the flow going because they are so inconveniently distanced from the wayshrine. They aren’t even visible from the shrine spot that people arrive, there’s always a tree or building or hill in the way.

When one ends, know your path to the nearest wayshrine and immediately use it to go to the next clockwise geyser, or just fast travel there. And then keep going clockwise until you catch up with the spawn.

Ill give this a try. Thanks for the tip.

The problem that I noticed with attempting to establish a pattern is that they will respawn faster than you can complete all 6 of them. If another player stumbles upon an active one outside of your rotation, then it will throw off the rotation. The longer you try to sustain a 6 geyser rotation, the more you'll run into inactive geysers.

I managed to get 3 geysers to spawn in a somewhat predictable rotation for a while and I just ignored the rest. I think the reason 3 geysers worked well was because the time it takes you to complete 2 geysers is roughly the time it takes a geyser to respawn.

Go clockwise in a circle around the island. They always spawn in synch. Assuming no one is randomly starting them, the next ‘hand in the clock’ will have the starter add a minute or so after the last one is dead. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the drops you get, though I’ve competed Psijic on the toon that does the farming, and I know that helps with fishing drops, so it’s possibly the same deal. I get pearls and the other ingredient every other dolmen.
