On the other side, the only weapons out of that list which I absolutely don't like, are hammers and mauls. They look to blunt and brutish for my tastes.
You sound like the elegant type, someone who’d use a Stilleto, or maybe a Kris?

✭✭✭BattleaxesIn lieu of polearms, I use battleaxes. Battleaxes and bows, even on a magsorc, (okay, it's really just a re-skinned greatsword) work surprisingly well for their utility when combined with elemental weapon.
I guess I'm a pseudo-stam sorc? A magsorc masquerading as stam?

kichwas✭✭✭✭MaulsEver since making a Hammer Warrior in Guild Wars 2 - I've loved the idea of a giant hammer spamming around a room. So I'm choosing maul here.
I've been working lately on a 2-hander warden and a 2-hander sorcerer and I/m finding the exact same 'fun factor' that I have with my Charr (basically think Kajiit and Troll and mix them together) Hammer Warrior. You're basically moving in and clearing the room with blunt force.
I've read that 2-hander is bad for lack of dots, but I've got cleave applying dots all around me, and half my moves are on-demand AoE
Because these characters are leveling they end up using whatever 2-hander just dropped with the highest level, but I always prefer when that's a maul.
Both characters use an off-hand bow. I'm not a fan much of archers in MMOs, but I needed some ranged option and going majika-ranged / stamina-melee would be very inefficient... so Bow it is.

I can choose "Daggers", but that's just spells using staves shaped like daggers.
I can choose "Bow", but that's just spells using staves shaped like bows.
I can choose "Battleaxe", but that's just spells using staves shaped like battle axes.
Considering there's really no such thing as "physical" damage in this game (and light attacks deliver nothing more than a paper cut), "Staves" is the only answer anyone can accept.

Like Leskandera's backstory has her being a former pact soldier, scout-skirmisher type, so she has a bow and only daggers for backup... Kelasendar is a librarian turned mage, so he is using different kinds of destruction magic (lightning and ice, because fire does not fit his "goth" image); Kes dre'Lana started as smith, so she uses a big hammer, etc.0 -
