Let's face it,
The Alliance war has gone on long enough. The PVP population is getting smaller every patch due to the degradation of cyrodiil performance and population imbalances. In a game with 11 million unique log ins, only around 2000 people pvp regularly.

Cyrodiil needs a major update, and ending the 3 Banners War, would be an amazing opportunity.

Declare 1 Alliance the winner. So starts a period of unrest in Cyrodiil.

This allows no need to choose an alliance anymore.

KEEP System

Guilds now roam around looking for fights, they have the option to attack keeps. Keeps give bonuses to their AP gain and MAG/STA/HP

If a guild controls 1 keep: %10 AP experience

If a guild Controls 2 keeps: 3% HP/MAG/STAM

If a guild controls 3+ keeps %3 Siege Damage reduction

RANKING SYSTEM

Cyrodiil is in a period of unrest, as the new Alliance tries to restructure the Empire. This has given rise to warlords. All who are claiming areas of cyrodiil as there own. The new Empire tries to satiate the taste of the warlords by handing out titles

Guild Leader of 1 keep: Title of Lord

Guild Leader of 3 keeps: Title of King

RAID leader who captures an outpost: Protector

RAID leader/individual who captures a town: Mayor


These titles give certain bonuses.

LAND

Guilds who control keeps/towns/outposts get bonus %gold %exp %damage to PVE mobs in the area.

    How will guild vs guild be any different than alliance vs alliance? You are just replacing the word alliance with the word guild.

    errr are we talking guilds that already exist created by players or are we talking an entirely new guild system purely for pvp to replace the alliances?

    Because if its guilds that exist created by players then A LOT of people will get shut out of PvP because of the elitist guilds...Not a very smart move if so.

    If I understand the OP correctly, rather than AvAvA (3 factions versus each other) you would potentially have dozens of factions (guilds) versus each other. This would allow them to form independent alliances with other guilds. One really good guild could own multiple keeps. Might make it interesting. Could also be a disaster.

    This would destroy smaller guilds IMO or at very least, drive them to just get enough for a minimum ball group.

    And I’m not sold on how small the population supposedly is getting unless it has just the past week. Still see pop lock Vivec and Shor where I go to avoid that, still Zergs on prime time; although I will say it’s a little smaller. Probably better to address why they’re losing PVPers rather than reshuffle how it looks while still losing more PVPers

    Guilds can only have 500 members total. 500 people cannot hold the entire map. Even if they had multiple guilds, this would still require that the guild have 500+ members on AT THE SAME TIME. But lets say that did happen, and one guild DID take the whole map. Well, then you would have peace in Cyrodiil, which is interesting in its own way. Who knows what could happen then?

    Also, I do agree with the OP. Cyro is just not in good health, nor have I ever really enjoyed the concept of it as a whole. I would like to see a reworking of it to make it more ... accessible and/or interesting. I don't find the siege warfare terribly compelling. Sitting at a keep while I left click a trebuchet for 25 minutes isn't really thrilling to me.

    Judging by the votes, I'm in the minority on that. But I've noticed most people don't really think things through. They don't care if it dies, as long as they get what they want. "Hey, it's the same old Cyro I've always loved. Even though no one plays it anymore. Yay me."

    Plus cyrodiil really is designed for a three-way war, not a free-for-all chaos with no loyalties to anyone or anything in existing lore.

    A new pvp mode on a new big open map that allows for numerous small alliances, much like what you describe, could maybe be fun, but not in cyrodiil, and honestly there's enough to improve on in Cyrodiil still that I'd prefer ZOS to prioritise looking at over producing new content.

    You know this sweet thing called alliances between enemies so they can farm in peace and obliterate everyone else

    And is this all going to be one thing so max cp players can slaughter newer players?

    Nahh too many flaws, i prefer it how it is..just update and fix it..the servers are why people quit

    I think they should add in a Mercenary Alliance. Let people choose who to fight for at the beginning of each campaign. Also think account should be locked to one alliance per campaign to stop all the flip flopping. Like if I join Shor on an EP character at the beginning of a campaign, then I can’t get into Shor on my AD or DC.

    If I want guild v guild, I go to Cyrodiil. There are plenty of guilds that play the map by capturing and defending keeps making it easy to find good fights at objectives so I dont think your suggestion is needed.

    Guild v Guild fights already happen at objectives.

    I agree with you. It's just the only reason I make these suggestions is because I and many other regular PVPrs who play this game to PVP feel neglected and we wish that zenimax would just really focus on cyrodiil and update it, give it some love.

    It's like they refuse to do anything to cyrodiil even to help it out, because they know that if they introduce any other PVP game mode that is not Battlegrounds related cyrodiil will die.

    I have always wanted to design and Theory craft a 24 vs 24 vs 24 Battleground. That will probably be my next post, after I figure it all out
