Weapons and armour need to be practical and maintainable outside "civilization", thus blunt weapons, wood/bone/stone-styled, possibly axes or axe/mace. Armour-probably medium, or med-heavy, again, leather, bone.
Class-leaning towards Stamwarden for shamanistic/survivalist vibes. Alternatively, if you don't want ghost shalk/cliffracer animations (you'd need animal skills slotted for damage increase passive), I suggest DK.
