10 million freezes story (Share yours too!)

Yesterday for me on eso:

Happy going to play some pvp in cyrodiil**
Going to try new build on my AD sorc
hops on sorc
Yay AD has the entire map but chalman
***some random pug leader: EVERY AD TO CHAL! LET'S DO THIS!
Port in to BRK
Nice sized group of AD inbound to Chal
Arrive at Chal to see siege underway
Red Devils start pushing out
Ok we poked the hornets nest
Full flee mode
***game freezes
FUUUUUUUU!
logging back in
Dead
Get rezzed
***game freezes
Literally pulling my hair out
Logging back in
Somehow still alive
AD making a push!
Blue took Bleakers?
Ahhh! Smurf horde!
Full flee mode again
AD gets wiped, DC gets wiped... chalman resets
Fast forward about an hour and about a dozen freezes
WE'VE DONE IT!
WERE ON THE FLAGS BOYS!

ALMOST THE ENTIRE AD FORCE FREEZES IN PLACE!
I go to endless fury an almost dead red
****boom****
Frozen
F@ck!!!
Logging back in
Dead.... everyone's dead
Sigh** presses home button on controller> Turn of console

On PC/NA, I can't tell you how many times I've ridden with my guild towards a breach to defend or capture a keep against heavy opposition, rushed into the keep, spells blazing...

Only for everyone around me to freeze and I have a minute to check out the cool outfits everyone is wearing before the game finally kicks me back to the log-in screen. All the while my guildmates are having the fight of their life over the voice comms.

On the plus side, I've gotten some good ideas for outfits to wear that way.

Holy toledo batman the crashing and freezing is definately at an all time high. Had 3 crashes and one solid freeze just in the couple hours i played last night

Logged into Vivec, huge lag, then forced log out. After I got booted back to the title screen, log in failed to work and had to force close the program. When I finally got back into ESO, I went into BGs without issues all night.

Moral of the story; BGs are the future of ESO PvP, sadly.

My food wore off. This usually makes the game shudder. Now it crashes!

Same with weapon enchants....just gotta keep an eye out on these things.

I hear they got a fix coming out next week for it.

@Minno True performance wise bgs are heaven but the cheese in there instantly kills the fun for me. I think the most fun I've had in pvp was in Blackwater blade back in the day. I might try that again soon.

Not sure how everyone is lagging / freezing. Zeni implemented their new PvP Grid System.

Basically what they did was break the server up into many small partitions and then used some really sophisticated technology to join partitions together making it appear that we are all playing together on one partition. This prevents lag and freezes.

However if you take a look at the new grid system ( see image below ) you will see the red lines. Those lines represent load screen areas. Anytime you pass a red line you will get a load screen.

I don't have a freeze story because I sit in load screens till it is time to go to bed.

It's funny because the cheese happens when your MMR starts to climb and the que makes you face/off against better players/groups. The best BGs were ones where sloads/zaan didn't exist and resulted in close matches.

Those alone make me keep coming back. I'd rather die to sloads than die to laggy button use againat 100 AD.

I’d definitely defend BB, BM, Fare, Roe and Brindle all night.

@vamp_emily very insightful. I must have missed that in whatever iteration of patch notes that was in. I wonder if you travel diagonally through the intersection points if that would change anything?

The red lines should be 4 times thicker though.

I agree and try to run non-cheese builds. But that's why I shamelessly tbag anyone caught running sloads+zaans. Just zaans is ok because I can at least LOS/purge that.

But I love how trashy the ESO community can get even though they expect white knighting/perfection from zos. Want respect and a better play experience? Stop being toxic and deslot those uncounterable procs.

Waited about 30 min for a queue last night.

It was going to be the last one for the night after we got to play 4 or 5 matches in 3 hours. (nice right?)

As soon as I load in, I crashed.

I lasted a little longer than you did.

I went to help defend Bleakers and died to a bunch of Sloads. Rezzed then died to Sloads again, and then I left PvP for the night.

Sload makes me want to....

This is my last night.

Queue vivic, get in, grab new quest and its capture 3 unique keeps.

Run like crazy for brindle, get stuck in muck where the ground isn't loading before me while i run in place, just make it in time for it to turn blue, 1 keep capture down.

Port to glade and mount up to head for aleswell fights, the keeps flagging half way there. Get there and dc. relog fails 2x.
Then i finally load back but to north gate, aleswell is blue. I missed it.

Head for dragonclaw its flagging, get in range and dc. Relog and I'm back in Summerset, missed it.

Queue up for vivic again, maps stagnant except for Ash ua so mount up and run from glade. Loading screen and dc again when I get there.

We pushed to nikel, I got muck for map again between ash gate and nikel, can't use skills(I mean my staff or class skills, cause i'm pretty terrible at pvp) get run down and tbagged while i'm stuck running in place.

At one point of the night I was at ash while it was ua and my fps was abnormally high for me while my computer was practically whistling, the fights and ap were great! That's why I keep going back I guess.
