Let new players start in Coldharbour so the story makes sense

I understand the desire of the developers for everyone to experience the new zones they have developed and for them to be populated but please allow new players to choose where to start their character. It is a shame you have to do research to learn how to get back to your traditional starting zone and begin the main quest. The new tutorials are great and all but the general consensus from the community seems to be you are selling the story short by forcing new players to skip all the great alliance specific starter zone story line and learning curves. Lots of people are happy to look into what order the story should really be played in to make sense but many casual players wont experience it how it should be and I imagine it isn't too costly to implement.

I wish we kept the original tutorial so we get the main quest, the Vestige, and game mechanics like skyshards and soul gems make sense. Then ZOS could give us the choice of starting out in the alliance story, Morrowind as the start of the Daedric Wars arc, or the latest content (currently summerset).

After playing a fresh character for about 80+ hours I have to agree ,we also need some roadblocks on some quest so other quest are not spoiled. I'm all for allowing player's to go anywhere and do all quest but the main quest in those areas need to not open until they complete the story lines.
Time for reckless audacity and derring-do!~

Agreed. I'm just getting back in to it so I always head there first. Fortunately, if you skip the Summerset intro you're right next to the wayshrine and can travel back to your city (whichever one you're at) and the hooded figure meets you immediately. Sure it's not ideal, but...

One Tamriel was a great idea but would love if they just added the choose your starter zone feature with a sentence or two describing why your there similar to how Guildwars 2 does it.

Not understanding what skyshards actually are or why people are calling you soul shriven seems like a needless shot in the foot amirite guys? This game is more than a generic 'collect it all' MMO so why forego the stuff that elevates it?

Personally I wish they had kept the old tutorial for all, and added the new ones with slight modifications as "intro" for when the characters travel to Vvardenfell or Summerset... so everyone got to enjoy them.
    Oh, well.
    ...
...alternately, it would have been nice to have one location-dependent "intro" for everyone that ends with their characters being handed over to the worm cultists for sacrifice and kicking off the coldharbour tutorial. So, pact characters could have that "slaver shipwreck" tutorial, ending with their capture and sale to worm clutists, and dominion characters might have the summerset tutorial, ending with a worm cult capture of their own, and... well... I guess covenant characters could use a themed tutorial of their own, huh?

Would have been nice, yes? And they could add more to it until every race had its own tutorial, all of them showing hgow they ended up in coldharbour - that way people might go alting just to see all the stories...

Oh, well... maybe someday they will change things that way. One can dream, right? ;)

The game should start us in the Wailing Prison. Some mechnism should the occur to let us choose what content to start. If we have a "Starter Zone" ala the original stater islands to play through to get our feet wet before we are given that choice is up for debate. For sure we still need to be offered the chance to skip and be dropped in a place of our choosing for second or third or whatever characters
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

There should be a choice on where to start.
Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

I agree - should start in the original starter zones (unless over cp160 then give a choice)

And also have the DLC/Expansion zones scaled to a higher CP level than 160 (since many of us are now 700+) - so new overland is worth doing and not face-roll easy for anyone who has already finished the original quests/zones.
