For starters let me tell you not everyone uses twitch and secondly let me say that you do not advertise your events well enough for most payers to get it. I had not idea I could get a free mount and crate for participating in this event . Had I known however, I still would not be able to get my gift due to the fact that I do not use twitch...I don't have a twitch account. It is unfair to expect us paying customers to have to go out of game in order to receive in game gifts. I sub and buy coins...lots of coins and I also pay for new content but I miss out on a free gift because I don't use twitch and also because a lot of the time you are not clear about these events.

They aren't forcing you to do anything lol is console even eligible for this if we do have twitch? I think that's more of a reason to whine than just not having twitch. Who cares really, they give out free gifts at PAX. Gonna complain you didn't get those either?

no one is forcing you to watch twitch, you can just have it running in the background almost muted while you are playing

Any time any company makes a "coupon" partly it's to see if they will reach potential consumers. Saying "well don't put coupon/offers in X publication because I don't read/use it" is never going to make sense to a marketing department.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I didn't participate because I don't do social media. But you could have set up a twitch account because there was plenty of time. And if you didn't it was YOUR CHOICE. There is nothing "not fair" about this.

Please stop playing the victim card its disgusting
The Twitch E3 promotion was on both the launcher and the ESO site well in advance , all your rant spells out is that you were too *** lazy to make a twitch account which takes quite literally less than 5 minutes and watch the stream for 30 seconds.

Ironicly while this promotion did have notable issues ( No console , the time being pretty EU unfriendly , Not properly communicated how the drops would work) you completely missed those and are just whining.

You are not entitled to get everything someone else does no matter what you think.
The target audience of an advertisement is not people who already play the game.
The target audience are people that may play based on getting a free gift to check it out.
Hell they Give free gifts in game just to log in and for playing the content for those of us
that are already players. That should be enough of an incentive.
Most of the time in advertising the free gifts for doing a special event participation in a contest
is limited to new customers only.
They let anyone get twitch gifts if you chose not to participate and not have a twitch account that is your choice.

I do not have a twitch account never will But I also Lack the Millennial Entitlement Syndrome that makes me
think that anything someone else gets I should get also.

I don't use social media either but I decided for the freebees I would create the account and then delete it when done. So as you say nothing unfair about this as I knew about the event well ahead of time and it was up to me whether I participated or not.

Game companies have been doing this social media/cross-promotion stuff for ages and ages.

"Like us on Facebook to get <prize>"
"Follow us on Twitter to get <prize>"
    And now Twitch.

I wasn't going to be bribed to give Facebook or Twitter my demographic info then, I'm not going to do it for Twitch now.

But that doesn't mean they owe me anything. It's a simple concept - "use this related product or service, get a bonus here". Retail chains, brands, and stores have been doing similar things for decades.
    Deal with it.
    /shrug

edit: "Do X, get Y" is a simple concept. But so is "If you don't do X, you don't get Y."

This wasn't an ESO promotion, this was a Bethesda promotion of their E3 presentation on Twitch.

It's worth repeating, not a Zeni promotion, a Bethesda promotion. Specifically for watching E3 on Twitch.

It's reasonable then, that prizes to reward watching the press conference on Twitch will require...wait for it...watching the press conference on Twitch.

Chances are it was twitch that went to ZOS with this idea, not the other way around. That way twitch might get some new viewers and ESO gets some commercial time.

And no one can force you to do something you don't want to. Don't want to watch Twitch? Don't. I knew about the event but I didn't think it was worth my time figuring out how to link my account with Twitch, so I didn't.

    Fixed it for you.

It's marketing, it's there to draw people in for Viewer count and to link accounts for tracking purposes.

If you don't do those things, you're not benefiting the purpose behind them. Why would they be inclined to give you something free? Not like the requirements were overly complex, by any means.

Ironically, had their marketing been reaching you (the very thing they're going for) the event would have been more apparent.

EDIT: Come to think of it, the people that actually attend E3 probably walk away with quite a bit of promotional stuff too. I mean, they should mail that stuff out to everyone, regardless of attendance, affiliation, or even the slightest interest in the related content.

    I mean, WTF?

    See how stupid that sounds?

Too much entitlement. You cannot go into a phone store and demand a free phone if you don't make a contract.

If you want to be eligible for these things, you must meet eligibility requirements.

These are not just free things, they are free to those who join in.
