@Vaoh yeah I get what you’re sayig, I’ve been around PvP for a few years now. But, the fact is that we’re relegated to an ultimate (comet) that is so easily blockable it boarders on a joke. You have so many block builds and tanky builds who can toss out tons of damage thanks to sloads, Zaan etc, while more or less perms blocking, that losing rune cage as is would make life really hard. At least it’s not a double cc like fossilize or something. And I’m pretty sure immov pots count as counterplay. A good player can deal just fine with rune cage and know that if they use their immunity wisely they have s good window with which to pressure the sorc. If it’s so OP, why don’t I see mag sorcs consistently crushing duels or 1vXing? It may be strong but so are a lot of skills and imo it doesn’t fall outside the current strength level of most skills in eso pvp. And I stand by the fact that magicka sorcs were far more of a pain prior to try frags/Shields nerfs. All I can say that as regular mag sorc player and a regular stam player mag sorcs feel good, though I can’t comment on how they played before. With respect it sounds a little like you want your old playstyle back more than rune cage actually being an issue.

That’s fair enough that you like it this way though I disagree. Difference of opinion :/ Glad to hear at least some people like this version of Sorc.

I want to know what you meant by this last part. “I can’t comment on how they played before.” Did you not play Magicka Sorc before the Frags CC removal? If that’s the case then this really isn’t the conversation we should be having lol. Also you’re definitely right, I absolutely want the old playstyle back because it encouraged everything that was once good about PvP. Frags CC is not only a proc to be instant cast (not always up), but had high counterplay and more risk if reflected. You really had to work for your kill vs skilled players and Frags had clear parameters for how you could deal with it. Now you can get big hits on targets (unlike DK, a Sorc is 100% burst damage oriented) with almost zero player skill. Please don’t tell me Immovable Pots are a counter either... just don’t lol....

I could write up a massive post to explain but I don’t think it should be necessary tbh. I have seen many more Sorcs in Summerset than before (Rune Cage was under the radar before the extra damage was made guaranteed) and people are starting to figure out why. For the first time in a very long time I do feel they’ve got an imbalance amongst them that contributes to the terrible state of PvP. They used to take a lot of skill to play effectively. Yes there are super tanky builds, Sloads, etc, but I never said those weren’t huge issues. However, Sorc having Rune Cage eliminates all counterplay involving skilled play which is HORRIBLE in a PvP environment because it diminishes the competitive aspect of it - in short, Sorc now contributes to the current trend in PvP of heavily “raising the floor” and “lowering the ceiling” as ZOS says.
