I thought I could by completely bypass Steam from here

✭What I did a few years back was uninstall ESO from Steam and then installed ESO from my Account Page on the ESO website. No more Steam hurdles. Game as worked perfectly since. Good luck all.0 -

ZOS doesn't fix bugs or deal with server issues, they push sales, they push new (bug ridden) content. They recolor miniskirts with shower shoes for cash. They don't have time to even have their own servers, this game is run on a server farm leased by ZOS. On top of that you have to deal with Steam to log in to that server farm.
This is just one huge money grab after another. Obviously I am beyond caring now as they get more kids in with promises of candy, eventually the cavities win out.1 -

With as much money as they collect from this game, there's no reason that they don't have redundancy for their login servers.
But instead, having a crappy customer experience is more important. They couldn't be bothered.
Could you imagine if your cellphone just stopped working? No phone calls, no network connectivity - and you were told that "we're looking into it" - and were expected to ACCEPT that answer?

Perhaps you can defy the expectations of those of us who know better than to ask a moderator here for an official Zenimax update and find a way to let this user, as well as the rest of us, know when you think this issue will be resolved.0
