I would participate more if I encountered others doing it more often. So far it has been rare.

Sometimes I go to the local park to watch the LARPers.

I'll even bring a loaf of bread, tear it into pieces, and toss it on the ground for them to eat.

Roleplayers like to use public channels just as much as the next player. It's important because most roleplayers stumble into it by accident, sort of like those "lf1m heal 4 daily pledges hm". I'm highly suspicious that a wedding party - roleplay that's been months in the making - would be roleplaying in zone chat. Most roleplayers turn it off as it's impossible to read roleplay among all that spam. Roleplayers use say and emote channels, which are channels for things your characters are saying or doing (emoting) respectively. They're channels for RP. If you asked them to stop using them, that's like using the group finder then having a go at your new group for wanting to do group stuff, or asking people to stop trading in /trade.

I don't participate in RP with other people, because I'm too shy for this. But I made small a backstory of my character and as Argonian, when I'm in Black Marsh I come to the Hist tree and pray to it. Also sometimes after hard adventure I enter local inn, eat dinner and go to sleep just before logging off. I'm not hard RPer, but the most important thing for me about games is immersion.

A few weeks ago I came across two groups of roleplayers in the Gold Coast. One was clearly a coven of vampire of some sort, as they were all vampires, and the other group was not too far - probably vampire hunters? A lot of RPers don't RP "in space" anymore for fear of griefers coming by and harrassing us. It sucks but every RP post is an invitation for trolls to come ruin somebody else's fun because for some odd reason they think they can lay judgement on others being somehow more nerdy when we're all playing a freakin' MMORPG

But yeah for me, I RP, I play the game, I PvP, and I follow a philosophy that incorporates all of it - let the game enhance your roleplay and let your roleplay spill into the game. I only RP characters as being "powerful" if I can back it up and I love bringing stories from just happenstance in game and making them work out as in character events.

I'm not interested in RP at all and most of the time I find the tavern RP'ers annoying and silly. But duuuuuuuuude, when I was leveling my alt warden the other day I came accros a tower. Now this tower was guarded by Human Imperial soldiers. I mean actual human players were playing Some sort of legioen RP. There was one captain and the rest were common soldiers and mages. I just stopped there and watch, 't was one of those moments RP'ers did a great job.

I don't get people like you. Like, just let people have their fun?

I know this is old post but hoping there are some still RP groups out there, have alot of interest in joining.

I should probably change my vote, i'm more RP centered than I realized after giving some thought.

I generally don't chat or act out RP stuff, on occasion I do but it's rare.

What I am strict about though is what my character wears, where he goes, and what he does based on the lore for his race (Redguard).

Some example's would be:

1. My "hometown" is Port Hunding in Stros M'kai, anytime i do banking, crafting, or general downtime I do it there since it's one of the first spots where Redguards settled. When my 6 month sub kicks in i'll also be buying a home in town.

2. The type of character i play and the gear used i try to fit with the lore as best I can. Sword and board templar with a mix of redguard styled armor on my fixed outfit. As well as redguard style swords on both bars.

Not too much past that but I also try to avoid anything flashy or silly. It doesn't sound like a lot but when you try to be strict about certain things like that you realize how much it affects what you do and how you play.

I am interested and want to participate, but I've never found the right moment to start.
