I bought and originally installed the game as a steam install and later deleted and fresh installed a digital version from zenimax, but I am having the exact same issues as the current steam users. there seems to be a residual steam api file on my computer somewhere, and if I remove it, I can no longer even reach the login screen. I wonder if there is something in that file that is blocking things?
the file name&location:
steam_api64.dll
C:\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\steam_api64.dll
thanks!

It's not Zenimax's fault this time... the blame is on Valve.
