New Alchemy Reagents CLARIFICATION

I need some help understanding where you find these 2 alchemy ingredients: Powdered Mother of Pearl and Clam Gall.

Apparently there are clams on beaches that give these, but ive been running around for almost an hour and not found 1 and its starting to annoy me. Also apparently the keen eye alchemy passive doesn't work for these clams (good one).

The only clam i have seen is the ones from the geysers that act like chests from dolmens. Are these the clams that give the ingredients? If so do they have a chance tk drop one particular ingredient or both?

If not, where are these clams? and where do you get each ingredient from? Super annoying trying to figure this out.

On a more important note, do these reagents add anything interesting it terms of new combinations?

one of the things i like about bethesda games in general is that they don't hold your hand through everything. they leave you to work things out for yourself. i will uphold that tradition.

You can get two new recipes that use those reagents as ingredients. Let's say it's all a bit fishy ;)

The Clam Gall and Powdered Pearl are new reagents that drop From Clams found in the overworld.(rare and hard to find)

as well as from Pyandonean Bottles which drop from fishing in summerset.

and from the Clam chest reward for Geysers.

Im not such about new potion and poison combos but the new reagents are required for the two new artaeum recipes. one of which is BIS stam dps food.

    and

    arena

    quake

    wolfenstien

    prey

    doom

    dishonoured

    the treminator

    daggerfall

    redguard

I dunno if there are clams on the beech besides summerset, I haven't noticed any yet. But around summerset, besides being stupid hard to find(They camouflage well with the surroundings) they like to hide 'em partially in water, under coral, and overhangs.... I assume they're also kind of rare.

More often than not I also get like... Guts+water hyacithe, or like... worms + fish... Rarely do I actually get the gall or pearl.

I suggest running geysers or fishing as a way to farm these materials.

I'll stick to my braised rabbit blue food for my stamina build. No trouble finding the provisioning mats for that.

I don't care about BIS food...not in an end game progressive trial guild.

Not sure if you missed the point or are conveniently avoiding the point.

Anyone can do a search in the forums or online for the types of potions/poisons these new ingredients make.

The clams are a royal pain. I have not seen one yet, except on youtube. I have probably ran over them more than once because you can't see them. Zos really needs to change the color or make them glow like alchemy ingredients. For people that have bad eyesight, this was not good how they implemented them. Between this and all the underground gold farmers steeling the nodes out from under you, summerset resources are very scarce right now. I collect about one jewelry node for every fifty ore, wood etc. It's ridiculous.

It seems the easiest way to get the new alchemy ingredients is to farm the geysers. I’ve received far more Gall and Mother Of Pearl from those than I have the Giant Clams.

I believe the point was to discover the effects on your own by experimentng with the new ingredients in the game.

I’ve gotten a decent amount from the geysers. I randomly came across a clam while running for my life from a gryphon on lowbie.

If the ingredients are so rare/expensive, it doesn't seem that farfetched to ask for their effects instead of having to waste tens of them on 'experiments'.

Of course you won't. Because you're more likely to hurt your own feeling than someone else's.
