Right now trade guilds are offering up services such as two hours of farming or fishing at auctions that sell for a lot more gold than they are probably worth. The members tend to support the guild one way or another. OPs claim that this will tank the economy is just ignorance. Any gear you can buy for gold is average compared to BoP sets or isn't gear and therefore has nothing to do with "winning".

It isn't. Not at all. Pay to Win is, for the quadrilionth time, being able to buy with real money, and real money only, gear that gives you a very significant advantage over other players in PLAYER vs. PLAYER. It is a PvP term and PvP term ONLY. The games I've seen that do this are scam/cash grabs. For example, a breastplate with massive stat bonuses over all other gear in the game that costs $500 U.S. THAT is pay to win.

Anyone who's ever run a trade guild knows that it's mostly a gold sink. No amounts of gold from Crown-item trading will make that sustainable or profitable. Only the top trading guilds in the game make a profit, and they work their collective butts off to get it. You can't buy that kind of work ethic.
