Crate in log-in rewards

I notice that the list of log-in rewards includes two different crates. Does that reflect a "season" change, even if it's a one-day one? And will gems buy items from the same crate season when we get them?

Yes the season is changing, the 14 day countdown fotlr the scalevaller crates started today.

I wonder what will happen when folks who don't log in daily are due for their Scalecaller crate after the change. I suppose they get the new one instead.

Most likely scalecaller as they stuck with the flame atronach crates for level up rewards when they advertised them as such. Of course now that I said that they will go the other way just to mess with us.

The daily rewards schedule won't shift for its full duration. Anyone who lands on the single Scalecaller crate reward will receive a single Scalecaller crate.

It's not confirmed but entirely possible for past crate seasons to reappear as rewards on any given schedule.
