Xbox, 47.99 GB, and my console can’t figure out whether it’ll be ready in under an hour, or near the end of the month as it cycles constantly between nearly unregisterable speeds up to 100-200 mbps.

Dude, its a big game, with big patches.

I guess im lucky to have nice internet. I let it sit for about 40mins while i worked out and showered and came back to see it nearly 60%. 78% as i write this now. Not like it matters, the servers wont be back up until after ive gone to bed.

Dude, on PC it’s like a 5-10GB patch and they’ve admitted before that the large update file is an issue that they supposedly fixed—there were two DLC patches that were normalish 10GB files. Now we have this monstrosity. I usually wouldn’t care, but I’m in a hotel/ suite for the next 6 months and it’s crawling on a 1 GB connection. Also, as another poster mentioned, this game DOES NOT auto update (PS4), whereas every other game does. So I had to get up at 3 in the morning to start this snail’s race.

First world problems, but annoying nonetheless.

This is a full on console issue, and across three PS4s and two Pros it has never auto updated for me either.

Also, although it shows like a 30+GB file dl it only increased the actual game file by like 2 GB for me.

Did they say it was an issue on ALL platforms? Cause things work much differently on Consoles than PC. Even the builds are different, maybe the large size is just an unfortunate side effect of how the game files need to be patched.

There is a better way, ZoS either doesn't want to invest in the technology or they don't have access to the technology itself. These 48gb patches which increased the file sizes by 5-6 gbs were standard in another game I play, the devs came out and stated they were changing to a different sort of compression, and since then, our patches are down from 40gbs to like 10.

Downloaded eso the other day because i had to erase everything from my ps4 it was 56gbs and took all most 6 hours this update was 33gbs and it took 30 minutes on ps4 i don't understand why it Downloaded it so fast now then the other day hmm

Yeh i figured. Its bed time and servers arent up yet. Oh well. I mean i dont care about getting into it first thing so whatever. But i swear if wake up tomorrow afternoon and log in to a thousand other players making me crash or infinite load screen...
