Pretty sure quite a few bigger trial guild has open run clear vmol whenever it’s weekly.
Sure, but those runs are usually being carried by some experienced players and can't be considered full pugs imo. Next to that in most cases those open runs do state some minimal requirements. As for vMOL this however is a decent way to learn and clear that trial. You'll see the same for vAS and probably vAS soon as well. Full pugs however won't clear a vMOL, let alone vHOF. The latter trial is on a different level when it comes to overall difficulty, and really does require some kind of solid group at least.
Of course everything is "pug'able" as long you filter your search for players. If you're putting 12 top raiders together from different guilds, you may be able to beat the hardest hardmodes, but how much of a pug group you'll still have?

“Getting good” takes time. Lots of time. Time that most people don’t have, and revolving around a strict role-based playstyle, scheduling your play time to match with 11 other ppl, and a lot of times even drama they don’t want any part of. That’s not free.
Also how is Vet trial carry buying = gold selling ?? You sound angry but not entirely knowledgeable of everything surrounding the topic at hand.... please elaborate for us.

I have no idea about you guys but I can walk into Craglorn right now and find a vet trial group. I got into a vet trial guild that way. My suggestion is join a guild that does their stuff the same time you have free time.
As for getting good. I've only had weekends since I started playing and I was still able to get good. Good enough anyways, 30k DPS is nothing to sneeze at (40K with Relequen). I've even completed all vet trials minus Cloudrest (its new so it might be a few weeks).
Ethically it is similar because this game is designed as a Play to Win vs Pay to Win. You buy gold that means you can buy decent gear, upgrade materials, etc. You buy a vet trial carry, you aren't even doing the work yourself. You are literally PAYING someone to do the trial for you. Honestly its worse than gold selling. At least if you ONLY buy gold it doesn't account for lack of skill. Buying a carry? No skill required. It's Pay to Win plain and simple. Plenty of Pay to Win games out there. This one is not and should not allow it.

Actually the gold buying is P2W as you'd use IRL cash, buying a carry is done with in game cash, so isn't P2W...
If you don't have that kind of time, why do you play a MMO then? It's a well known fact that a MMO requires a certain amount of time, and yet people with "no time" persistently play it and force their "views" on it. I don't get it, play some AAA title on "story-mode" if you need some gratification.dovakiin5574 wrote: »Why buy a carry when you can get good and actually contribute to the team? I'm not sure it was ever worth it, but I admit it's hard for people to get clears if they don't have time to commit to a progression guild. Based on forum chatter over the last couple years it seems this is primarily a thing on console, does paying for carries even happen on PC?
