Transmute crystal cap

    Another one of these threads.

It is there so people don't stockpile them. Yes, you can keep them in your inventory in unopened stones, but each stone takes up one slot. You're stockpiling them that way, but you're paying a cost for it.

For all the complainers, I'll reiterate my comment from a previous thread on exactly the same topic:
I feel like this is done on purpose - ESO doesn't want us hoarding tons of crystals so that we can instantly swap out entire sets the first day of a patch and be done. We will still have to do content for them and farm them like everyone else.

It's annoying to me too, over half my inventory is taken up by unopened crystals lol. But I'm okay with what I suspect is the reasoning behind it.

Who are they to tell us how to play??? We are paying their salaries after all

Well, they are designing the game, so.... they kind of make the rules?

Would you rather return to farm forever until RNjesus gives you the trait you want this quarter?

After all that is the MMO norm, and transmute a limited bonus.

    ^^ This.

People complained they had to farm for months, ZOS gave a solution, now people are complaining about that too. Just goes to show no matter what, people will complain.

They gave “a” solution... Just not necessarily a good one.

Sure, the doctor cured your acne, but now your pee smells funny.

Surely there’s a better solution that what they came up with.

@Odnoc you realize this thread is months old right? Also if you care to read it again you will see it only pertains to the anniversary event in april.

Don't blame me, I wasn't the one that resurrected it lol...

The cap is bizarre and should be done away with. Crystals clogging up our inventory is not something we should be dealing with.

The cap exists for three reasons:
There's also the bonus reason, because ZOS: by tying the cap to ESO+, they found a way to monetize it.

Is the only logical reason. Most people stockpile the geodes on top of their 200 transmute crystals, and can easily convert complete sets of gear come Chapters/DLC releases.

Correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't actually tried, but it doesn't actually cost a trait gem to transmute something does it? Seems like transmuting a weapon to Nirnhoned and deconstructing for the chance to get a Nirncrux back might be profitable if you're just going to destroy crystals anyway.

Just to be on topic, I do agree with wondering why there's a cap in the first place. Particularly since they aren't trade-able.

I'll correct you as you are wrong.

Every weapon I've transmutated to nirnhoned needed a potent nirncrux

You would be absolutely mistaken on that front...does not use a trait stone....

I have destroyed 200+ from old pledges containers, rewards campaign, festival and whatnot and I don't care, I cannot become insane taking care of that too, running to transmute station to not waste them every time, to transmute what? I did all I wanted, no need now. Am I about to transmute items in a crappy trait to transmute them again in the good trait for the sake to not waste crystals?

I'm sure I will be in need so much when summerset comes, will farm then, now I destroy. I really got tired to fight with inventory during these days.

just don't open the crystal, I have about 400 still in my inventory plus the 200 cap, no big deal

lol 200 too low try 100.

but to be fair I just run off an randomly transmute something I have stored away. For example I just transmute my ebon pieces in case I ever want to use them for a tank even though I am not currently using them.
