Not sure about the other quartermaster areas but, regardless if I’m opening the blacksmith box, or the jewelry box, both open together.
This happens even if I don’t have a writ completed for the one that opens on its own.

Cabot✭✭✭A bit of an update on this...
Now, while putting writ items in the Daggerfall Jewelry Box, the lid doesn't open at all, the rewards display right over the closed box lid.
However, both the blacksmith box and the Jewelry box, still open simultaneously while placing blacksmith items into the blacksmith box.
I'm not even sure this has been worked on yet, but it has developed new symptoms.1
