Do you have to be in a group for sets like wurm cult to work on others?

Or will wurm cult also work on any 11 people within 28 meters? The reason why I ask is, I mostly just run support builds for overland content. Once I finish getting what I need from dungeons, I really don't run dungeons anymore and I do not run trials. I am currently wearing wurm cult on my magicka templar and hircine on my stam warden, and it just occurred to me that these sets might actually not be useful at all in overland content (world bosses, essentially) where I am always ungrouped.

If you are not in a Group it will not effect anyone else. But the effect will work on yourself always.

So you have tested it yourself, then ...or know someone who has? :flushed:

Just making sure the answer is solid. Been googling it for awhile and finding nothing.

My Healer wears it, and yes it works as described, same as Ebon Armory.

Yes i have used Hircines for overland quests. I get the extra % recovery (now Cost Reduction in Summerset). But unless i am grouped no one else gets it and there is like a 28M range on Ebon, Worm Cult, Hircines and Sancutary.

I think it's group members only ( don't quote me on this since I don't run this set )

I don't know off the top of my head but it should be simple to check. Just stand next to a friend (not in group) and ask them to check their buffs.

I would agree with you on that but this game is notoriusly bad at displaying correct tooltip information.

Have you tested this? I would myself, but I don't have any friends playing this game (--> solo player).

The wording in the tooltip literally says "up to 11 other group members".

If you are using Worm Cult for the cost reduction you may as well craft seducers as its 8% instead of 4%. or there are other sets that will help others that you are not grouped with like Spell Power Cure.

Worm cult is a set that affects groups only, if it affects someone not in your group that is a glitch, and yes that glitch does happen from time to time.

Was running SPC with Wurm

Wanting a set that helps others as well, so seducer is out, but thank you for the advice.

Thinking maybe of replacing Wurm with Jorvuld's Guidance, but even though it's a meta set, I kind of want something more animated, something I can see happening around me... visually. Just 40% extra time on buffs and bubbles doesn't really have a satisfying feeling when casting stuff, if that makes any sense. It's not eye candy. Unless Jorvuld's gives me a glow or something. That would be interesting. I imagine it does not, though o:)

Edit: Seems Jorvuld's makes an interesting sound when you weapon swap. That's kinda cool.

Well Jorvuld's definitely has an obvious audio sound if only used on one bar :# (Maelstrom Arena sound)
otherwise MEnding or Infallible Aether if used on 1 bar has a visual effect on your weapon.
