Jewelry crafting and consoles question!

I play on Xbox so I have yet to mess around with the jewelry crafting but I assume it works like the other crafts as in you gather raw mats and break them down. That part is ok but I have been reading that jewelry crafting takes lots and lots of raw mats to break down. Now if you play on consoles you will know that we don't have any addons to help with crafting so everything we do takes a press of the button. So if we have to break down 9000 raw mats at 10 at a time like the other crafting that means we have to press the button 900 times. Not only is this going to take a lot of time but my fingers are going to hurt and it is going to wear out the button on my controller ;) , of course this is all based on the old crafting where we break down raw mats 10 at a time.. maybe the jewelry crafting is 100 at a time?

Anyways the point I am trying to make is that if this is true then ZOS needs to think of making changes (IE - lower the amount of raw mats we need to break down to a manageable amount or give us the option to break down everything with the push of one button). I really want to do jewelry crafting but I don't want to spend all day pressing one button over and over :).

I don't think there's any respite coming for any platform, @Hammy01 ... so be prepared for the same type of grind that you see all of you PC friends going through today.

There are a few ways to shorten leveling if you have the resources to bypass the time commitment.

You can buy jewelry for decon from the guild traders. An expensive endeavor for sure ... especially right at the patch drop. But if you have gold to burn it works.

What I personally did was purchase purple 3-trait jewelry (with AP) at the Cyrodiil capturable towns - Bruma, Vlastarus, and Cropsford. Expect to spend somewhere south of 6 million AP ... to get to level 50 jewelry crafting.

But, it only took me 2 hours.

Was a bit slowed down by some back and forth to the Cyrodiil jewelry crafting table ... and one incident of an EP PvP Guild changing the Bruma flags to the wrong color.

    Hello @Taleof2Cities ,

My post was half tongue in cheek and half serious and I only decided to make this post after reading through some of the threads on jewelry crafting especially this one -
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/415179/upgrading-jewelry-to-gold-8-000-raw-mats-corrected-13-600-raw-mats/p1

Where they mention it takes 8000 raw mats or more to craft a gold jewelry piece. I was assuming they meant raw mats like we have to use for all the other crafts (Ie gather 500 rough ruby ash, press button 50 times and get back X amount of Sanded Ruby Ash). The thought of sitting there pressing one button 800 or more times is not fun as we do not have addons to help with crafting. However the way you describe it makes it sound like it might be a little different than the other crafts.

Because I am a hardcore crafter, a couple of years ago I spent $15 on a plug-in usb controller that has...da da dum...a turbo / lock button feature. Best investment ever, lol.

I’m not even kidding. It’s sunday, so it’s refining day. I did some survey farms, so I have 9800 raw mats to refine. 980 button mashes? No thanks.

I agree, on console it's a pain to craft or decon 100s of items. I usually just set the controller down and just bash my head on the buttons for hours...
