This huge announcement thing everytime I log in

Dear Zeni

I do have the summerset collector's edition update pre purchased. No need to "***" me with it anymore.

Also, this HUGE blatant aggressive popup window every time I log in (with any or all of my characters) DOES NOT and WILL NOT make me run to the crown store and spend crowns. Seriously.

Please, get rid of it OR add an option to turn it off.

- Redguard StamBlade dps ["bowtard" crafty girl who likes spinning with daggers too.]
- Breton SorcMag dps [She's got an identity crisis, but I believe in her.]
- Dunmer Templar dps/healer [she's a healer, then again she likes inferno staff too...]
And..
- High Elf SorcMag dps [It's quite possible his daddy was a Nord.]

I am an old-fashioned Goth

For now if you use addons, use the addon No, Thank you! It blocks it. Sucks since we shouldn't have to rely on *** addons for this sort of thing, but yeah...

Nothing turns a potential customer off faster from purchasing something like a gigantic ad being slammed into your face constantly.

I hated to have to use another addon but they work.

    hideloginannouncement addon also works

Devs on Zos forums say there are likely to be changes to this but in a later incremental patch. I have copied the relevant reply below:

"Thanks so much for providing your feedback on the new announcement window. It’s worth mentioning this is only partially populated, and once the Daily Login Rewards is activated next week, this will be a place where you can also easily see which rewards are available to claim in addition to what’s currently being displayed. It will also provide some additional real estate to showcase in-game events when they’re active, and featured Crown Store items so you don’t miss out.

That said, we agree that this window is appearing too frequently and are working on making some adjustments. The plan is to have it only display once per account either when we’ve changed the featured products, or when a daily reward is available for you to claim. This work is in progress and will be implemented in a future incremental patch."

Which means once it's FULLY populated, it will be even more laggy and still trying to sell me something I already own and blocking my view of the game world. I'll still be pressing the ESC key as fast as possible to get the huge eyesore out of the way. I know how to get to the daily rewards tab when I'm ready for it, don't need it shoved in my face before I can do anything else.

No Thank You!, updated version blocks it a bit but it still pops up when you login but auto closes after like 10s

I think they will probably revert this based on the responses I have seen from them on this topic.

One thing is for certain, by making me see this every single time I logged on, they ensured I ignore it every time I see it because it had become background noise as opposed to "Oh the new store ad, lets see what's new".

Also, I am now using the addon to remove it, which makes certain I never see it anyway.

This is good to know. I was indifferent to the ad until I crashed 3 times in vCoS fighting Velidreth and that damn ad popped up each time I got back! My groupmates were saints in that fight!

I think I will save getting my panties in a twist over something more meaningful like.....

simple graphical functionality elements not performing after five years

The engine not being able to perform simple common task (I'm talking about things the sucktastic game Bless can even perform) most MMo engines can these days

The engine not being capable of showing cloth for cowls, cloaks, shawls without literally crapping the bed

Bad design choices like all public dungeons and delves all the time no matter if you have your own group or not, even when it flys in the face of what the quest you're on is about

The inability to change instances. (Traveling to your group mate doesn't count)

    No real phasing capability

The writers working the all important indoctrinatarian "progressive message" into the latest expansion pack instead of just giving us an Elder Scrolls experience. (And yes I do understand the lore behind it all)

Rumors of nepotism, and agenda driven policies within community management and the company

Yes the ad sucks, and I say that as one that personally supports the current business model...but gods there are such larger issues, this one should just get in line with the others really.

Given that they are planning on implementing daily log-in rewards, they are basically turning the game into an advertising platform.

LOL. ZOS' nefarious "progressive agenda" and its related culture of corruption!!! Oh noes!!!

Let's look at some facts, to see just how "progressive" Zenimax really is:

    1) Robert Trump, Donald's brother, is on Zenimax's board of directors

    2) Zemimax is a member the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), a right-wing lobbying organization that works to influence government policies and has in the very recent past endorsed Trump's policies and positions, including his massive tax break for the rich (not surprising since the members of ESA all benefited from it).

    3) Members of ESA have enjoyed a cozy relationship with government officials that includes direct contact with the Trump administration through both Robert Trump and other lobbyist ties to the Republican party. As an example of this: ESA members even had a meeting with Trump out of the fear that as anger about school shooting grow, that the video game industry will be targeted as policymakers who are scared to address gun control look for any other scapegoats--like video games--to blame.

Not really the nefarious progressive indoctrinatarianismology you were hoping for but if you want talk about agendas, boy, there's your motherload.
