Daily Writs A Waste Of Time?

Good morning. I've been doing the daily crafting writs for a long, long time. Haven't missed a day that I can think of. Anyway, not long ago I stopped getting the ingredients for making glass armor. I only needed two more pieces to complete the set but couldn't do it. I finally had to buy the last two motifs from some guild traders.

But now I only get a writ quest about once a week and it's usually to make a glyph or a concoction (some epic armor on a very rare occasion). I get 5 points about once a week. I can't remember the last time I had to make any legendary gear for lots more points. At this rate, I'll never be able to make my Dwarven practice dummy since I have to buy the Animus Stones from the Mastercraft Mediator. Animus Stones cost 50 and I currently have 19. It's taken almost a month just to acquire 19. I need two more Animus Stones which will require 100. At this rate it will take me more than 5 months to get the Animus Stones.

So would you say that messing with the daily crafting writs has become a fruitless waste of time? I already have two other practice dummies so it's not like I really need my Dwarven dummy.

Master Writ drop rates? It ebbs and flows unfortunately. Its mostly all RNG.

And, I have not gotten a nice fat writ in I can't remember when. I did recently get one for the Scalecaller motif that I don't know for 20V.

And, speaking of Motifs, it does seem to me, at least, that the writ drop rate "drops" as new motifs are entered into the knowledge pool. As in, before the update, there were only 3 I did not know, now there are what, 6? I don't think Motif knowledge has more to do with this than RNG, but it kind of seems that way after a major update.

At this point, you can always buy the writs you need for the vouchers, just make sure you know the motif it asks for. They are around 500 Gold a Voucher, give or take. I think the fatter writs actually go for a bit more per voucher as they are more convenient.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I've pulled in about 60 vouchers in the last week, with 1 full fledged crafter and 2 more who can get masters for enchanting and alchemy. A month for 19 seems very slow; either you're doing something wrong or you're on an amazingly bad streak of luck.

I don't really think it's a waste. Do some simple crafting task, get writs (hopefully worth a lot of vouchers) that you can sell or complete and use the vouchers to buy items that you could in turn sale. So, if you're using it as a money maker, it's definitely not a waste. Maybe a little time consuming, but not a waste. Especially if you're doing it across several characters. You can potentially make some serious gold!

Yesterday I got three master writs totalling 100 vouchers. Today none. The day before yesterday none. It would be great if you would get a constant 'currency' for handing in writs that you can get master writs with instead of RNG. Won't happen though. Best 'workaround' is to check guild traders and buy master writs from them.

For a good number of vouchers/week (300 ~700) u need to do the dailies with ~10 alts.
Those alts need to be maxed in the crafts (obviously) and should have a bunch of traits learned (6+), however u _dont_ need motifknowledge. From what i can tell, the research is more important (also cheaper!) than the motifs.
My master crafter w/ all the motifs cant keep up with my other alts: #6 in amount of writs and #4 in amount of vouchers.

Keep in mind, u can only improve the chances to get _a_ masterwrit. There is nothing u can do to improve the quality of the writ.
Longterm stats over more than 10k normal wirts. Incase u get a masterwrit u have a
72,82% chance of epic not nirn
    9,47% chance on epic nirn
16,34% chance on legendary not nirn
    1,37% of legendary nirn.

If u can sustain the basematerials w/o buying from other players, the writs r worth it. Good amount of cash, raws and gold.
Enchanting is cool, u always get more mats than u spend.
Provisioning the same, most of the writs aint worth it tho. 2 voucher ones r okayish, 10 voucher ones r a wate of mats.
I dont do alchy, years ago i had the feeling i get more out of it when i just keep the plants im collecting.
Stay the F away from jewelry crafting. Typing DESTROY on those master writs is a huge waste of time. (Best here is to do t1 writs to get surveys to either refine and sell golds or sell raws)

I get all six writs every morning. Woodworking, blacksmithing, clothing, provisioning/food, alchemy, and glyphs. I don't miss a beat. I got a "concoction" quest two days ago and a glyph quest a few days before that. 5 points each.

It may have something to do with my CP level (currently 823). Anyway ... I guess I'll keep trying for awhile but if the trend continues I'll assume that my level is too high and I'm just not going to get my Animus Stones. I already have a complete set of glass and a complete set of ebony and I have all of my own crafting tables (blacksmithing, cooking fire, woodworking, clothing, glyph, and alchemy) and I have two practice dummies so there's not much else I can get from doing these dailies -- especially at this slow rate of return.

Well ... I used to get an average of about 20 vouchers per week (give or take). But now it's been reduced to about 20 per month. I haven't gotten anything at all for several days.

From my experience, traits researched increases the frequency of writs, while complete motifs known increases chance at higher voucher amounts. And i think it scales like when they add new champion levels. Their is a max voucher amount and the closer you are to having all motif knowledge the better the chance at higher voucher writs/max voucher you can receive.
If you only have the 4 complete motifs sets for example you will get pretty much all 10 vouchers or less. As you complete more sets you will see higher amount appear sometimes.

At least this has been my experience. I have a crafter that knows 5 or 6 complete motifs and has never gotten above the 20s and one that knows a bit less than half of all styles and often will get a writ in the 50-150 range

I just got a master jewelry writ for 101. Sadly I do not have the gold mats to make the ring. Probably wouldn't maker it even if i had the platings.

jewelry master writs grant about 1/10th of the vouchers needed to make it remotely worth it. Plating costs 10 grains, and thus the writ 10 times the upgrade mats as the other crafts for the same amount of vouchers but costing more then 10 times as much to do gold wise easily.

I have literally done all max tier writs since day 1 of release along with max character slots each time, 12/15 over time and I still barely get 1 MW a week, and about a total of 50 vouchers a month I really do believe some accounts are bugged

Yea, going to hold onto it and maybe do it in 6-8 months when the economy stabilizes and hopefully the cost of making it will fall inline with the other crafting writs.

They will never be worth it unless ZoS increases the voucher reward dramatically. Tempers for Jewelry will always be way more expensive than for all other professions because of the 10x amount of resources required.

I am pretty surprised that ZoS used essentially the same formula for Jewel Crafting writs as the other professions.

    Ouch.
Those chars, what exactly do they have in terms of traitresearch and achievmentpoints? I suspect that its not just the motifs, but rather the achievmentpoints under crafting that influence the dropchance.

Doesn't matter tbh I think they made up some story about how the motifs and such really help cause my main crafter has all motifs traits, and gets practically nothing while some of my other crafters which all 14 are max tier crafters but 0 motifs aside from base game ones, and no traits since i hate multi tasking.

I haven't gotten a master writ in I don't even know. I started doing them consistently after the jubilee event and since then, I've gotten about 4. What's worse, I've blown through nearly all of my mats and have probably spent more on buying mats to do my writs than I've brought in.

I've found that master writs are great for some but I'm on the bad side of RNG. Granted, I have one main crafter.

Things just aren't what they used to be. Like I said earlier, I used to get materials necessary for making glass armor/weapons but that came to a screeching halt a few months ago. I had made every piece of glass armor/weapons except for 2. Then it all stopped which forced me to buy the final motifs.

I also used to get legendary quests at least once a month and sometimes twice but I haven't seen one of those in many months. I've gotten a couple of epic quests but they don't bring in many points.

Something has definitely changed but I don't know what or why.

I get a solid amount of the lower count ones like 7 writs. I'm torn between doing them, donating them or selling them. six or seven vouchers seems hardly worth the trouble most of the time. The large ones drop once every two or three weeks if I am relatively consistent on doing writs on all my toons. I actually have a pretty high chance of getting them too. I have all my research done except on jewelry and I have all but the very newest motifs and militant/boyager.

I don't do alchemy, provisioner or enchanting most of the time because those are crap rewards. I mean 2 writs? That's garbage.

perhaps ZOS caught on. Seems like this all started around update 17, so perhaps there were some unintended consequences caught up in that?

I do them mostly cause they are a source of nice bit of extra gold that requires very little effort, even if you get no master writs. yes, I've been known to complain about rng surrounding master writs, but I also do crafting writs on characters that only have basic crafting - again, cause its a nice easy source of gold, and I include surveys and crafting materials that I can and do sell at a guild vendor in that category.

so they are worth doing for me, for that alone.
