Nord to Imperial! Bad Idea???

So I've been playing as a Nord Stam DK for 2 or more years. I've taken a lot of crap from folks who say: "why are you a Nord instead of a Red Guard or at least an Imperial?" "They're far superior to a Nord if you're a DPS." So I finally caved in and bought a "race token" and switched from Nord to Imperial. Dang nab it! Why do I listen to "the experts?"

As a Nord (with food):
14474 Magika
34886 Stamina
21031 Health

As an Imperial (with same food):
14474 Magika
33017 Stamina
19414 Health

I went backwards. The only noticeable difference in combat is that I lose health more quickly. Time to buy another race token and switch to something else. I'm afraid to listen to the experts and try a Red Guard as I may even go farther down the scale.

When you race change, your skill points in your racials reset. Obviously, you are missing those or forget about something else.

I was always under the impression that Nords were the worst race in the game. So any race change would be an improvement.

Except in this case ... apparently.

I just checked. My skill allocation is exactly the same as before and so are my attribute points. No difference at all in points allocations in skill, attributes, or champion. ???

chnaging your race brings only changes in minor factions.
I have characters in all races, you can do with each race absolute fine

and really I once listened also to such experts
    shame on them
only pays off if you really play in a guild like Hodor
and wants to squeez out your last 1% to optimize
and really it is only about 1% we are talking here

so forget about those selfmade eyperts, only able to burn water
and do whatever you like with wjatever race you like

Thanks. Switching back to my good, ol' Nord character. He's done just fine for 2 years or more.

Are you sure you put skills points back to the racial skills? If everything else is the same you should get more stamina and health as an imperial. Imperials suppose to get 10% more stamina and 12% more health compared to the 6% more stamina and 9% more health for nords.

Your stamina difference is about 5.7% and health difference is about 8.3%.

    "No it doesn't!"

    i had something similar happen
reset your attributes and skills, my race token made my stats go nuts (bad way unfortunately)
after skills and attributes reset and then reapplying skill points it was fixed

    cheers.

No, they do not reset. All skill points stay exactly the same. I've used a race change token many a times, i know.

It's impossible for your character to have more Health/Stamina as a Nord. You've either forgotten something, or there is a bug.

Yes, they do (the racial skill points, that is)... I’ve also used a few race tokens. You don’t have to grind anything up again. Just spend the points on the refunded racial passives.

Something does seem off with the Imperial calculations. I somehow have 23k health outside of Cyrodiil with 0 health attributes, 0 health enchants, Orzaga's Trifle, and 1 skill in middle NB class (Shadow?). Opposite problem as OP, but that seems off, right?

Edit: Nevermind. My jewelry is appearantly healthy. Glad this post made me see that!

I recently changed my DK Tank from Nord to Imperial. Max Health and Max Stamina improved. Health seven goes down, but it's partial offset by the Red Diamond passive. Overall, I found it to be an improvement, despite that I am a Nord fanboy in terms of lore. I had hoped I would be proven wrong by my change, but this definitely worked for the best.

For both max health and Max Stamina to go down must only mean the OP changed something else in the process or doesn't have all of the Imperial racial passives.

Howdy. No ... skill points are the same as before. No changes were made to any of my points allocations in any department. I'm still playing as an Imperial but there's no noticeable difference.

Because the experts said that my Stam DK would be "much better" as an Imperial. I like the Nord racial line based on my personal DNA and because of the Viking history. I also played as a Nord most of the time in Skyrim. Since I'm a stronger DK as a Nord I'm sure I will change back in a few days. Just wanted to make sure that my Imperial really was weaker and he really is.

Okay everyone ... I'm a total, friggin' idiot!!!

I DID forget to add skill points to my Imperial character.

    Magika is the same
    Health is 21571
    Stamina 36132

    Sorry I wasted everyone's time.
