Best Way To Level Crafting?

Hey all!
I love ESO, and mmos in general, but one thing I hate about every game is the crafting! When I heard about stealing armor/weapons to deconstruct to level fast I got super excited, seemed like a fun, fast way to level crafting! However, in practice it is incredibly slow (I'm not sure if Zenimax changed the way it works). Is there any way to level crafting without much of a headache now? What did you do to level?

I deconstruct all the gear I collect while questing/dungeons that way I level it a bit by bit, 2 weeks now and im lvl 30+ in blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking

while have mats I need for writs as well

IIRC, they changed stolen items so they give less Inspiration when deconstructed. The fastest way to level everything except alchemy and provisioning is to deconstruct loot. The better the quality, the more gain. Items with Intricate trait give a big boost. Items higher in level give a big boost. Ornate items are best sold. It's a good idea to put points into extraction to get more mats back from deconstruction and refining. Other than this, it not necessary to use any skill points. The exception is if you are doing trait research, in which case definitely get the passives that speed the process.

For alchemy and provisioning, level by making foods and potions. Make the highest level you can, so every 10th level put in a skill point. Note that you gain more from odd number recipes than even, so if you know them, or buy them, use 15, 25, 35, and 45.

I just began to get into the crafting thing, granted I'm not going to be doing nothing with it. Laundering stolen goods then deconstructing them is good if you have the Gold to do it. Stolen items worth 100 Gold or more gives more Deconstruction after the Launder, but still not as much. The only reason I do it is because I'm currently working on the Launder 10,000 Achievement.

The main question is why you want to level crafting. The main benefit is being able to make your own armor and doing writs. So make sure you're interested in these before undertaking a dull grind.

When people say they hate crafting, I usually tell them to take the slow approach. Just follow some of my tips below, but ignore the craft level numbers....don't stress...they'll go up.

Tip: you don't have to launder stolen goods to decon them. Just tear them apart while stolen...same Xp. There is no reason to launder them.

And like many MMOs, your character and account get "luckier" as you play, level, earn achievements, etc. If your first toon at level 20 tries to get their craft lines up...that's like 20 hours of grinding for the items to level trade skills, forget about enchanting and alchemy. But by the time you're vet, now it's 4 hours because you pick up better stuff. So don't rush to do it early.

Smith, cloth, wood:

Decon everything, but remember that the value of what you pick up increases as you level. As a general rule, these lines will hit fifty about when you do if you decon garbage fromdelves, dolmens, etc. If your player level is 20 and you're trying to level smith from 40 to 45, it'll be way slow.

And don't try to level by stealing garbage sitting in the world. There was a time when extra armor sitting around velyn harbor gave great xp...I leveled my first character in two hours there. But now stolen white quality items offer almost no leveling.

Daily writs can expedite leveling and also be profitable. The writ itself rewards inspiration for that line, but also an ornate or intricate item. Deconning intricate items from my writs level most of my toons now.

Provision:

Buy a green recipe for level 1, 2 and 3 and enough ingredients to make about 100 of each. Guild stores might be lean on stack of ingredients, but vet players typically have massive stacks. Put out text requests if you can't find what you need.

Alchemy:

Sunshine daydream is a site with an excellent guide on how to discover all traits most efficiently. Run this, the. Grind cheap ingredients like spider eggs and mud crab.

Enchant:

This is the only one I find to be a true pain. Glyphs made by other players are hands down the best xp. If you can find a friend willing to make a bunch of blue glyphs, that'll do it in about 400 decons. No, really. You can also do enchant writs and deconstruct the green reward glyphs. And items from delves.

Enchanting is the one true pain-in-the-hister, as argonians say. If you hate crafting, just decon what you pick up and don't stress that it takes you months and months.

Decon the purple stuff, you will level up pretty fast.

You might have to buy it from guild traders if you aren't finding much in zone and dungeons or delves.

Its hit or miss, for the most part not worth the time and effort and cost. Mob Loot is better in so many ways, you get gold, character experience, skill upgrades and free loot. Sell what you need to cover repairs (white unimproved) , decon the rest). You don't really need to repair gear while leveling, just wear mob loot.

Here is the thing about Crafting, you don't need it until End Game (post CP160) but you can level it in preparation with few to no skill points invested. Crafting can eat up 122 Skill Points to fully invest, so this will gimp your combat while leveling. Best to invest as few points as possible while levleing your character and crafting.

Equipment Crafting

Decon all mob loot other than what you are using to research traits. Research traits, learn two on all items you would use, then learn 3, etc. Focus on Divines, Infused and Training for your first three for Armor, Sharpened, Precise and Training for your Weapons. Then go for the other ones. Nirn is expensive, and a lot of people suggest putting a priority on that, I can't see why. The Trait is all but useless for Armor or Weapons. Best place to find Mob Loot is Public Dungeons, then over land grind spots. Grind on mobs until your bags are full, then go on a decon fest. Remembering to save the ones you need or want to research. Use the Lock Function and or an Inventory Mule to hang on to those. Only invest Skill points while leveling it into the Research and Extraction Passive, the last really only needing one point.

Enchanting

Ignore all the "advice" on the web about using an enchanting partner. First, use Mob Loot decon to raise this up to a point. Later on as you approach end game have some some gold, then start making Green, Blue or Purple Glyphs on one character and decon them on an Alt. You will level Enchanting faster than trading the glyphs with another player, which is tedious by the way. (like pull out your hair and make a doily tedious). Use Green up to about L15 in the Enchanting Skill, Blue up to about L30/35 and Purple up to about L46/47. Then learn the runes you don't know, you should be at or near 50, if not, make/decon some more Purples.

Provisioning and Alchemy

Don't worry about these, you can level these professions in about an 20 minutes, for both. Just collect the Various Solvents and Reagents and Provisioning Ingredients/Recipes as you go along. Once end game, then you can level it. Use Mushrooms to level Alchemy, or Flowers that make potions you won't use. Make sure you grab solvents (waters) as your leveling as they can be rare to find in the guild stores. For Provisioning, make the highest level Green Recipes you can make. Blue or Purples do not give any more inspiration than Greens, so save those for character use.

Character A crafts 100 items and banks them.
Log onto character B and decon the 100 items.
Character B crafts 100 items and banks them.
Log onto Character A and decon the 100 items.
