Provide a disconnection between steam account and Eso account

At least, if you are not able to fix this bug, give us a workaround.

Can't you log into the official site and download the official launcher through the account page?
  • Anomanderake
Obviusly not because a connected account actually need to log in trought steam.

They can't separate them because steam will not allow it. Only option to separate eso from steam is to buy a copy direct and open a new account. Less than optimal solution (read terribad solution) I know. If it's a recent account, you might not lose too much by starting over :(
  • Anomanderake
Wtf, i will not give away 500 cp hardly gained trought - except for the farm gear runs - pvp. Nor my 3 maxed characters.

you can download the client and play the game without accessing steam, I've been doing that for 2 years now even though I bought it from steam

I'm not sure if this hasn't changed since....

But back when ESO was Tamriel Unlimited I simply:
    a) completely uninstalled the game from steam**
    b) "hardcore" terminated steam app ( closed through task manger)
    c) went over to the official website
    d) logged in with my Account Details
    e) downloaded the game from the official wesbite

** = you must remove all files from the original directory and their remnants, also including the "my documents" folder. Might even have to dig in registry but that should be last resort.

This made a complete switch from steam to retail with 0 trouble or limitation. Been on retail version ever since.

That doesn't work anymore because new accounts through Steam don't have available login details for the official website. So you can't even login there.

Also, even your ESO account predates that switch... doing this you will lose ESO+ and any DLC bought through Steam.

WHAT!? SERIOUSLY? You don't even get access to your own login details for a product that YOU PAID FOR? And most people are okay with this? Holy ***... I don't even want to use steam at all anymore.

That is ridiculous. I guess at that point I'd contact ZOS directly. Valve can go suck it.

^THIS is exactly why I always prefer to go to the game's company directly and download from them... why go through a third party, which IMO always has the potential for issues as seen here, instead of going to the company directly? Imagine if Steam or whatever other third party company closed, you'd be stuck, even though the game and the game's company is still open.

Yeah I would never buy a MMO on steam. Heard way to many horror stories from final fantasy xiv and TERA player's.
Time for reckless audacity and derring-do!~

Hence, why I would never use a third party to play a game. I don't see why anyone would, you're left at their mercy.
