Thinking of returning to the game after a long hiatus

So I need some more online Pv whatever in my life. I have been playing a modded Skyrim for over a year and finally might have to hang it up. I haven't played ESO since 2016 ONE TAMRIEL update. I play on xbox one
I stopped bc of the following:
1) Ruined economy
2) OP Stamina builds and heavily nerfed magicka builds
3) Proc sets that took all skill out of the game. (Eg do one hit and run away since the proc sets just start doing tens of thousands in damage)
4) Terrible RN-Jesus

Has the game improved at all? I am honestly just concerned that I'll be so behind in patches, nerfs, buffs that I won't be able to follow what is going on.

Like my VMA toon still had on Julianos and Willpower when i stopped XD

I like to play online, PvE, PvP, goofing off with randoms in dungeons (I do miss White Gold Tower), my hilariously named Argonian healer (Has-No-Heals), and just enjoying the weird convos going on.

Is the game worth giving another chance? What has been changed? Is there UNLIMITED storage in houses yet? How hard will it be for me to catch up?

This I know the answer to. No you can't import an account. The rest of your questions is really 50/50.

I still think the economy isn't great but that's because of the stupid trading system ZOS settled on. The poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

It depends on the class whether stam is better or magicka is better and it changes from patch to patch.

    RNG is still crappy.

I never had proc sets nor do I PvP so I couldn't tell you that.

Honestly, I stopped playing for a long time and just recently got back and Ive been enjoying the game so much I finally made a forum account. The community for one is fantastic and you can make friends and find guilds with ease, the public dungeon finder isnt great but going to your guild shouldnt take too long to find 3 people willing to do pledges or some specific dungeon to find gear. Ive been dabbling with the economy, other than the jewelry stuff, it seems pretty balanced and easy to use with certain items being sustainably farmable to make a good income. Magicka builds also got buffed because the staves now count as two traits which is a huge buff meaning you can run two sets and a monster set on a staff user.

I dont think you can move your account to PC sadly I'd use a ticket to find out. but yeah its definitely worth it if you plan to relearn the game, that was the largest obstacle for me

Hmm..intersting! What about how behind I am? I know that there are TONS of sets i have yet to learn about and I feel I'll be so behind no body would want to run dungeons and I would suck in PvP.
How hard would it be for me to actually try this again and catch up?

It depends entirely on your approach to the game. If you're a min-maxer then you can guarantee in most games including this one that there will be regular changes that will frustrate you. If on the other hand you're the sort that doesn't bother with competitiveness and you don't read the patch notes or forums much you'll never notice most of the changes!

The key really is that the game is free for you to try out again, so have a look and make your own mind up without being influenced by what other people think.

But no, you can't transfer platforms without buying afresh (if you do that on PC I strongly recommend not buying through Steam), and no the economy isn't any better because it's still based on a highly restrictive and largely dysfunctional trading system (especially on console).

You can easily run the dungeons in normal mode until you have your "sea legs" back.

Also, two things regarding RNG: You can trade bound items with members of your group for up to 2 hours after you picked them up, so getting stuff from dungeons and trials is easier. AND you can get transmute crystals to change the trait on an item (those are earned from dungeon rewards and PvP rewards)

The Rng is just as bad as it was since day 1, the writs are even less rewarding every day imo stay away if you had doubts before

The game has a lot changes some that you might enjoy we have transmutation for to change traits and some recent balance between Magicka and stamina.

I remember the trading from team members! I loved that!
I am a min/maxer, so I didn't mind the changes, i welcomed them! I am mostly concerned on how much catching up I will have to do on sets, since I am like 6 DLCs behind (I would rebuy Plus).

Like my healer has Gossamer/Healers Habit and Kena and dual VMA resto staff. So I sill have the old-fashioned build. How long will it take me to get the new sets?

Also...can you store items in a house? Or are we still limited to the bad bank space?

So great...the writs are not as rewarding? So are Kutas harder to get? (I never made my gear gold, the 2% change in damage wasn't worth it to me.

Are wax, tempering alloys and rosin easier to get now?

There are storage chests that you can get for your house. They are "collectibles" so you can have the same chest in all your houses and you can access the contents from any of them.

There's a total of 6 chests you can get, I think, for a total of 360 storage slots. Wait. That doesn't add up. There are chests with 30 slots and chests with 60 slots. You can have them all.

You can get them with Tel Var, Writ Vouchers or with Crowns.

The market isn't as expensive for legendary items. Consoles can use ttc website for price checks.

Not sure how long you been gone but healing has changed a lot. It's viable for all five classes with gameplay varietations.

I am about to renew my Xbox Live and PLUS and start farming Summerset for sets.

This is how behind i am.

My VMA MagBlade still rocks Julianos, Willpower, the lava guy helmet/shoulder pads and VMA Inferno staff. The classic build but i see that people are rocking new stuff now.

My Mag sorc was still struggling in PvP, but this is when Stam was so op.

WAIT!! EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! DID THEY NERF MAJOR EVASION YET?! OR IS IT STILL RIDICULOUSLY OP? WHERE EVEN IF YOU ARE ON THE GROUND YOU CAN MIRACULOUSLY DODGE EVERYTHING?
