So now that two hands, like a really long stick or sword, count for two set peices the forum needs another axe to grind. I have taken the responsibility. Y'all ready? Since two hands are now two set peices, I firmly believe there needs to be a trade off... 2 hands shoyld cost twice the mats and have two traits.. boom enjoy the next few months of complaining.

I wouldn't care if it costs twice as much and had two traits and I'll raise you two enchants.

    No. It really isn't.

Game balance wise, it makes no sense, is inconvenient, and durpy. The entire reason 2-handed items became 2 sets was the gigantic imbalance between greatswords and staves in power due to lost item slots. Why would you go and set them back when you just sat down and evened things out.

Realistically, it honestly does not take more steel to make what you would in game terms call a 'greatsword'. Most people didn't use greatswords. They used longswords, which had a longer but thinner blade. The force came from the length of the blade plus velocity. And even warhammers wouldn't be extremely heavy or take much more metal to make.

It's a dumb idea. It's born of bitterness that the change finally happened.

Not especially. I was promised a new dead horse, instead it's the old proc set horse with different gear subbed in.

New dead horse? How about double enchant, or double trait? Ever heard, "Give an inch..."?

I didn't say to change it back to one set peice. I mean also it is a game so trying to be realistic about a stick that shoots fire is kinda silly isn't it. They count as two peices so let them count like a two peices.

I mean this thread has one "unreasonable" person and the community saying that one is wrong. I think I delivered a pretty good dead horse lol

Double trait is already a thing. Okay, not exactly. But, as it exists, 2h weapons get double value from most of their traits, in comparison to 2hs. Nirn might be an exception, I'd need to log in to check. But, stuff like Sharpened or Precise are twice as good on two handed weapons. You can't mix and match multiple traits, but really, who does that? (EDIT: Out side of Nirn/Sharpened for DW, and of course your shield trait won't match your weapon trait, because how could they?)

Hmm... actually, from all I have seen, so far, most people mix traits and enchants.

Double traits for 2h? Most traits are twice as powerful on 2h than on one hand anyways.

2 seperate pieces still have one distinct advantage. You can backbar 2 different 5 pieces thus not losing out on a 4pc bonus when backbarring.

For example when you backbar lich with a resto staff, the regen bonus will only be active on one bar, so you're missing out on a bit of regen there.
With two separate pieces you could use 4 lich and 4 wizard's riposte (example) on the body and slot one of each on your back bar. This way you would gain full access to the 2-4pc bonuses on both bars.

That's just one small advantage of 2 seperate pieces, which does warrant an increased number of tempers for upgrading.
