They have been silent on this and other mmos like wow allow it and doesn't count as real world gold trading on their games, so I wonder if zos will take a similar stance. It has already begun and I've seen people advertising for exchanges but these people may be risking acct termination since zos has yet to comment on the matter
No, all joking aside, selling crowns for gold = rmt.

I don't think ESO has anything in the TOS that forbids it.

Just handle the truth.

Which side of the equation is the 'real money'? Because the TOS are very explicit in detailing that Crowns have no value in real currency. They also fail to engage entirely with whether gifted items are subject to the same terms as Crowns themselves.

Yeah it's almost like creating a nonexchangeable fiat currency exclusive to your service is a shady business practice that leaves customers constantly in the dark about how it's allowed to be used.

no it can't someone offering gold for a crown item is no different then someone offering gold for a ww or vamp bite. ZOS doesn't need to comment on it it's an at your own risk to trade gold for something either it being a crown item or a bite. If someone gets taken advantage it is their own fault because of the risk. It is not ZOS's job to think for people or help them use common sense. This really isn't a hard thing to grasp and understand the risks involved with gifting.

Are you maybe missing that the reason people want comment from ZOS is that there's a possibility they start banning people for trading Crowns for gold, despite their TOS not making it clear whether it's permitted?
Frankly, they either have a position on the matter which they're withholding (which is a pretty bad faith way to handle your TOS) or they don't have a position and they're scrambling to come up with one (which is itself fairly outrageous).

again how is this against TOS? I mean you can purchase a bite in crown store then lvl it up and sell the bite for gold same thing you used real money to purchase something that can get you gold for it. You all just assume that it is against TOS, again common sense just need to use thinking and you'll be okay just give time. You really think that they can chase people that offer it as a gift and who is to say that person in gratitude gives them gold? Point being is you people are making it a lot bigger deal then what it is. Just go about your business and either you are going to gift and get gold or you aren't, you all just need to chill out.
