Sload’s Semblance set perma-breaks Night Blades cloak

Since no bugreport has been made of this bug in this section (only just a drama thread in the PTS section) I'll make this thread here in the bug report section where it belongs, so the devs can pick this up without having to read through the whole drama threads.

The Sload’s Semblance set applies an oblivion DoT for 7 ticks (6 seconds) on the target. There is nothing wrong with the damage, but the problem is, that since Oblivion damage can not be negated by anything else, it perma breaks Night Blades cloak for 7 ticks with it. Now since the devs of ESO could previously not fix dot damage while cloaking, the way right now is that dot damage does not apply to cloaked players, this works fine, till now, when the set was released.

This set however completely breaks this workaround that has been made by the devs previously, and with it, it completely cripples the Night Blade stealth playstyle, and prohibits a LOT of Night Blade specific skills being used, that have to be cast while being hidden, otherwise they lose their function.

This situation would be the same as a player affected by the Oblivion DoT can not cast healing (Templar) or shielding skills (Sorcerer) for 7 seconds, or 50% of their skills would only do halve the damage, that would be completely absurd and would also have to be fixed asap.

So please fix this bug, so either oblivion DoT's don't break stealth (while still getting the damage) or suppress oblivion DoT's while in stealth, like all other DoT's work now.

Either way this will have to be fixed asap!! Thank you!!

I don't want to bring the drama over here, but allowing NB to suppress the damage via cloak while every other class has to eat this sload *** is not really an option.

Or option C, formally clarify that this is intended and will go live.

oh no! one way to break a perma stealther.

wearing a 5pc just to combat nightblades sounds balanced enough.

Tbh I hope this is working as intended. Nightblades have a unique advantage in being able to become untargetable, not to mention that cloak causes certain abilities to flat out "miss", the equivalent of 100% damage mitigation that no other class can utilize without slotting meridias. Stamina nightblades are grossly overperforming right now (and this is a class I have 600 hours on, I'm not speaking from bias), and with no nerf coming to the class this patch, I'm not opposed to one more counter being added into the game.

i agree, we nightblades should not have our stealth removed.
our ability to cloak should not be removed by anyone, especially not by force.

DOTs break cloak yeah? Always have. Also this is far from the the real issue with sloads which is just that it’s stupid OP. It’s taking us back to the viper days. In BGs you can count on at least one person from each team using it if not thre and very likely combining it with knight slayer and/or Zaan. It’s *** up.

Because...there's not a ton of other ways to break stealth, like Magelight, AOE, Flare, Potion, mark, dots, and some specific skills that keep a NB visible for a time, by design, after being hit. LOL

No. Dots on a target should not EVER break cloak on the NB that cast it. It is an expensive 2.9 second spell. It should be working unless a hard counter is used.

Sounds like the problem is "Stamina" nightblades being able to have too much magicka to be able to spam cloak.
There should be a sacrifice for focusing on stamina so that you can't also benefit fully from magicka skills as well as any magicka character.

Either that or you think a nightblade is stamina because of the weapon they use but they really are built for magicka or a hybrid.

Sorry to slightly going off topic on this, but Durok does the same for some reason when its reapplied (like having DoT on enemy with durok that procs durok on you)
