I think it worked just fine when it was only on the launcher. I was “ok” with it when it ONLY popped up when something NEW was added. I tolerated it when it was once per day. I’m objectively annoyed by it taking up the full screen every time I log in now.
I swear, if that crap starts popping up every time I zone into a dungeon or open my inventory, I’ll start demanding a refund because we will have officially hit F2P levels of desperation in advertising.
I'd prefer it to go back to how it was. Popping up when there was something new: A starter quest for an event, a new addition to the crown store, or other news. I don't think this is helping their cause by plastering it every time people log in.
It should be reverted, at least for those who have a subscription. I don't mind them how they were, I have made purchases because of the ads before, but honestly if its being shoved in my face I'll just ignore it altogether and that will result in less purchases.
I bought base game, I bought morrowind, I subscribe.
Truthfully I haven't even touched morrowind yet even though I prepurchased it. I understand a game has to advertise but once per each character login I feel is more then enough to let everyone know yes it's out. I get annoyed I pay a monthly sub to get advertisements every single login to spend more money. Yes I'm eventuality going to buy the chapter once I'm at the stage to go explore there but in the mean time please stop this every login.
I had no issue with the way it was before, but there are larger issues than the replacement of advertisements.
Don't advertise items already purchased - fix the drop down so that items I've purchased (appropriately) do not display in the Crown Store. This is not a programmatic mistake, but unethical marketing that could cause a community member to make an unnecessary purchase
Pay-2-Win - note: I had this discussion with my guild, and I may be misinformed about the research scrolls. I had no issue with the strategy of the Crown Store prior to Summerset, but now I fear the game is turning into a Pay-2-Win environment that will not only divide the community, but poison it with the addition of Gifting and cooldowns on research scrolls (limitations on earned in-game items). Toxic effects lead to an increase in scams, bots, farming and disruptive community behaviours that are completely opposite of what this game was built on. We have amazing players that not only care for the game in its entirety, but care for its community as well.
I'm considered a "whale" who is ZOS' ideal customer, but like I said, I don't believe in the recent manipulations. While Crown Store items are still typically considered a choice, the introduction to cooldowns on research scrolls is a push to limiting free-play activities. And this is just the start.
This may not seem like a huge change (or issue) for the community in its infancy, but if you really think about the effects this has on the future of ESO... it is dangerous for both parties.
ZOS should revert it back to the old sizing. I have no issue with it in game - it's the only reason I even knew outfit slots were half price last weekend. The size is stupid though.
When I first log in I check friends lists to see who's online (esp if I'm trying to catch someone), and then if the crown store announcement was there I might flip through it before closing. Now I can no longer see anything except a GIANT BILLBOARD TAKING UP THE WHOLE SCREEN, at which point my reaction is to insta-close it.

I bought this game when it was P2P only and held a sub from PC early access for a reason... B2P and F2P mechanics were never something I wanted to encounter.
If they want to advertise in game, I'm fine with that untill it's not as aggressive as it is now. Upon each character login? @ZOS_GinaBruno This is to much, I think everyone understands why Adblock is one of the most popular add-ons for web browsers. @ZOS this kind of advertising will lead to opposite results than intended, pissed off people won't buy your stuff.
"We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available."
— They always claim they’re “investigating” the causes, but in reality they’re just waiting until the PC EU players go to bed. Once that happens, you can suddenly log in again and they happily mark the issue as Fixed.
Modify it. Give us an option to toggle these off, or show it on a first character we log in that day only. Same could be done with music, since its out of place to hear the summerset soundtrack in every single area when you log on a char there. I log in rivenspire, its summerset music. Log on other char in Vivec, guess what - summerset main theme there as well. Why?
If people are going to use the crown store they will anyway, full screen nagging just does the opposite angers people and makes them not use it.. out of spite..
