What are the Summerset meta PvE DPS sets for magblade?

I don't have trial sets, so looking for a simple setup that I can craft or that uses BoE sets I can buy. I do have a few BoP sets in the bank, such as Overwhelming Surge and Scathing Mage, but not trial sets. This is mainly for dungeons or maybe participating in a trial sometime.

One thing I'm wondering is whether the removal of the unique buffs from Night Mother's Gaze, and other sets, has made Spinners attractive in trials, now, or whether that will still likely result in overpenetration.

I'm guessing it's Julianos + monster + X? X will have to be a non-crafted set. Jewelry crafting will take time, before I'll do it. Spinners? Surge? Scathing? Mother's Sorrow? Somtheing else? (I don't think I have BSW).

Siroria OP... but a trials set

Maybe try Julianos + Mothers Sorrow + Vulkan Skoria.

Or Burning spellweave, depends on how much fire damage you have.

I'll encourage you to try out some normal trials they are quite fun... on normal difficulty.

Siroria the new set is a bit situational, moving fights make it sub par.

You cant go wrong with spellweave + julianos + monster set. If you choose to go semi melee, swap one of them for master architect and youre golden spamming soul harvest.

Edit: If you dont want to farm for spellwave, use julianos + acuity with force pulse, even with the nerf force pulse makes up for it.

If it's not meta yet, it will be in a day or two. The new trial set, Siroria, is going to be BIS on basically any magic DPS build. You can still pull very good damage without any trials pieces.

My main mageblade is running 5 BSW, 5 Mother's Sorrow (front bar), Either Skoria or Zaan (depending on content), and a back bar VMA until I get my Siroria Sorted out. I have opted to go with two bloodthirsty traits on my jewelry (dont have the neck yet). My instinct is that most players wont actually want to go with three.

My backup mageblade is running 5 BSW, 5 Julianos, same monster sets and back bar VMA. It is slightly less DPS, but not that much. You could also certainly go 5 julianos, 5 Mothers Sorrow.

Either way you need one of the fire staves (BSW or MS) if you want to pair with a VMA staff. BSW can be farmed, MS can be bought but even bad traits are 400k+ on PC/NA right now. If I was on console, I would be scooping them up in any trait I could find. If you dont have VMA staff, you could also make julianos staves (both bars) and buy/Farm MS rings and a few body pieces. That is certainly your cheapest/easiest option.

I just finished leveling all my psijic skills and I have seen about a 6-7k DPS increase on live from last patch on a 6 million health dummy. It might even be more than that as I had to move some skills around so I need a touch of practice still.

Thanks guys. Going to stick with Julianos, since I had the gold weapons already. Will wait with crafted jewelry until prices settle down a bit. Using Mother's Sorrow and Skoria for now.

I tried a handful of sets against a target dummy. Going to use Force Pulse, as it's now the same cost as Funnel. Scathing was neck and neck with Sorrow, with FP, but I reckon Sorrow will be more consistent across different situations. Elegance didn't quite match up. Spinner's and Surge were in the ballpark, but didn't stand out. They really needed to do a bit better, since penetration cap could be reached in a trial, and Surge is single target only.

I trust Gilliam the Rogue's argument on that one. It only buffs magic damage. So it won't buff Elemental Blockade, nor light attacks, nor (non magic) synergies, nor Force Pulse, nor the destro ult, nor Shooting Star. It's more of a PvP set, but even in that application I prefer sets that also buff heals, which the 5-piece War Maiden bonus does not. All sets that buff only one damage type are fairly suspect. Their best use tends to be in PvP, but even then...

Light attacks are your biggest damage by far on your parse. I wouldnt advise a 5 piece set that doesnt boost them.

As to FP/Funnel/Elemental Weapon, I see no reason to run FP. If you dont need the heals, go elemental weapon as its more damage than any of them. Most progression groups are going to want you to run funnel for the heals. in 4 man, a mageblade with funnel often means you dont need a healer.

Meta means Siroria this patch, you can run Cloudrest on normal with a pug.
Just watch a couple YT videos so you know the trail mechanics and ask/look in zone chat for a group.

Siroria gives up to 600 spell dmg and minor slayer, Julianos only gives 300 spell dmg so the difference quite massive.

The Siroria buff stacks on each direct dmg hit, this means you get full 20 stack quicker if you run Force Pulse because it counts as 3 direct dmg hits. I would only run Funnel if you need self-heals and Elemental Weapon if the fights is completely stationary.
