I am very sad and disappointed. Magden was the least effective class you saw playing solo. With stamdens and stambladesrunning around, what did us magdens do to deserve a nerf to one of our greatest abilities right after the bird nerf? you don't see people complaining about magdens... you see people complaining about incap and stamdens. You nerfed my magplar's solo potential with the removal of the blazing spear stun and now you do the same after I moved to magden.

I just leveled up a Stamplar, and I will rarely play magden this patch, although my build doesn't lack a CC since i use Flame Reach and DBOS.

I enjoyed my magden when it had a nice little niche for being the bane of stamblade, but with dodgeable bird and soul assault no longer snaring, it's just dead now

The dueling scene has been pure D.H.'s about 3 months after it's release.

Dueling is pretty stupid now imo.

Well I prefer to play my Warden as a healer/support, it's the reason why I rerolled to it. But I still have those urges to sate my bloodlust

so I usually head out to the Salty Dunes of the Alik'r for some duels, or queue for Battlegrounds (Chaos Guardian

). It's that flexibility to swap between Heal and DD that I loved so much

Unfortunately, it seems that ZOS wants us to be full-time support while keeping us inferior to the Templar...

At least to me, magwarden is a much more interesting form of support than magplar. Templars bring healing and purges, which are crucial, but magwarden brings AOE buffs/debuffs and massive AOE burst. Sure, magwarden is inferior at providing the kind of support templars provide, but magplars are also much worse at providing AOE buffs/debuffs and contributing to AOE burst.

None of that justifies not letting them have an in-class non-ult CC, though.

Pretty much. Same can be said for strife and 2h light attacks (to a lesser extent)

No. It can't. The Strife change makes sustaining somewhat harder on a class that still has excellent sustain, and the 2H light attack nerf is weird but doesn't make any spec non-viable solo open world. Those changes aren't at all comparable to removing magplars' or magwardens' class CCs.

Why zos found it necessary to nerf an already underperforming and unpopular spec because of the inconsistent rationale that high damaging abilities shouldn’t stun is beyond me... fine then, take our single target, blockable, highly telegraphed delayed cc that had to be aimed... it’s not like mag warden is gimped for damaging abilities, has no synergy between said abilities, or lacks the ability to execute or anything... no not at all, we weren’t hoping for any buffs this update to make us relevant again... it’s a good thing that our burst no longer lines up because of the bird speed buff or that we no longer have any class stun because that would be too functional... In fact we welcome these crushing nerfs as seen by the dozens of pages of pts feedback

I just hope this class representative program we are hearing so much about includes someone from the magwarden pvp community, because the state of magden is beyond bad at this point

Lesser extent is being generous the strife nerf doesn’t even compare to how badly shalk nerf screwed over magden

Yep, good luck with time stop now. It works but the channel is a bit clunky to use.

You lose you’re one class CC just when ZOS is ready to sell you a new one...

I had a work-in-progress on paper a while ago, but I gave up on it when ZOS announced that they gave up on further class changes on the PTS (call me disillusioned).

It's a bit of a mix between my Bear duel build, and DeHei's freeze build.

Sets that I had in mind were: 2x Zaan, 5x Necropotence, 5x Lich/Jorvuld/Desert Rose/... (was still working out which 2nd set to take) and 1x Maelstrom Ice Staff

Front Bar Maelstrom Ice Staff Nirn with Winter's Revenge, Elemental Blockade, Elemental Weapon, Deep Fissure and Dampen Magic
Back Bar Resto Infused with the usual: Blue Betty, Ice Fortress, Trellis, Pollen and Healing Ward
Ultimates... well I would've picked the Bear (I'm fond of it in duels lol) though I guess you could pick Dawnbreaker or Permafrost on Front, Thicket/Forest/Resto Ulti on backbar

Point being: place Pollen and Revenge and wait until Chilled proc to place Blockade for roots. Elemental Weapon for spammable, would also trigger Zaan,...

Like I said tho: this is a work-in-progress. Stil unfinished, I've never put this in practice and I've also got no idea if it would actually work...

The best build ive found for me atm is to use overwhelming surge and shacklebreaker and bloodspawn or iceheart or mighty chudan.

Magward has always been very, very strong in duels, because it's the one place in the game where the bear is viable. It's translating that power into the open world that is overly difficult for the class.

The bear and shadow lose a ton of viability in BGs or OW

Frost staff is a very solid choice, on any class.

A good player can make any class do well against the majority player base. It'll just be easier on non Magden
