Anyone else underwhelmed by Summerset?

Maybe it's just me but I was so impressed with Morrowind...the look, the feel, the music, the quests. From the INSTANT I bought it, I was drawn in.

Summerset...meh. Landscape is dull. Quests are dull. New monsters are dull. Jewelcrafting is dull. I never play magicka based characters in any game (nor have I for 20 years of MMOs) so Psijic does nothing for me.

So far (and yes, it's too early to dismiss the chapter), I'd rank it below ANY of the DLCs that added new lands. Morrowind, Wrothgar, Gold Coast, Hew's Bane, CWC...all much, much more engaging and interesting than Summerset so far. And typically, the interest wanes after the first few days.

Morrowind felt like a new world. Summerset feels like more of the same.

The house is pretty cool. I bought it as my base of operations. Not too big, but not too small. Good, comfortable size.

Morrowind isn't far off from looking like Stonefalls... It's not all that different. Personally I don't feel like Vvardenfell is anything like a new world. Clockwork City does for sure. And Summerset feels like more of the same because, well, it is a lot like Auridon, is it not?

What little I have seen and done I am happy with. Haven't really explored too much of it yet though. Kind of waiting for things to settle a little before I dive in

I'm having fun, but then again I'm not the typical "everything sucks" forum goer

I can tell that they are setting up for something large in the way of a DLC....but then of course there will be whining to use the DLC (or for it to make sense) you have to buy the expansion, or some such nonsense.

I wouldn't judge it as harshly as OP, but compared to Morrowind I find it a bit lacking. I was more interested in the new crafting and skill lines than any of the actual content, although the Psijic Order setting and story is interesting so far. The new Trial feels uninspired as well, and seems like more of a DLC raid than that of a major expansion (Chapter). As time goes on, I feel like the DLC dungeons are getting better but the Trials are getting worse.

No OP, you're not the only one. I will also add that there were a lot of things I wanted to see that they didn't include or flat-out retconned away. So now I'm not even excited about future content after Summerset, because odds are good it's going to get the same treatment.

There is a thread like this for every new addition. And no, to me it delivers in every way it promised.

I like the zone. The architecture of the Psijic base and the whole zone was designed beautifully. The new skill line is really fun and the jewelry crafting may not be exciting (kinda of a grind, too) but it rounds out the gear crafting system nicely and allows for countless new builds. This chapter adds a lot of new toys. I'm not underwhelmed at all.

I'm enjoying myself except for the bloody announcement screen. That I could easily do without. Otherwise, having fun!

Morrowind had the nostalgia factor. I mean, Its Morrowind.

I've been enjoying Summerset. The coral forest beaches are a unique and varied landscape I really enjoy and for all that I wasn't impressed with the Abyssal Geysers on the PTS, I'm really enjoying them with tons of players around.

I actually like it but I find the grinds offensive. I mean they actually worked hard to make this *** way more tedious than usual it feels like.

More tedious than Undaunted? Mage/Fighter Guild? Don't think so. :) Or is that not what you meant by "...than usual"?
