How to NOT Find a Group

I was in Cyrodiil last night and this is what I saw on the chat.

“LFG”
“LFG”
“Why is no one helping!”
“PVP is stupid! I just want Vigor!”
“PVP is stupid! I just want Vigor!”
“PVP is stupid! I just want Vigor!”

You get the point. It went on and on. Essentially because no one gave this person a group invite within 30 seconds of asking he then started spamming the chat about how much he hates PVP. That in and of itself isn’t a big deal, but of course it prompted a few people to start trolling him - myself included. Nothing bad, but silly stuff like “soloing is the path you seek” type stuff. At that point the messages started getting spammed hardcore about how awful the people are and how we’re all just mean spirited jerks. Of course he admitted to only being in PVP because his guildmaster “demanded” that he upgrade Vigor but that’s besides the point.

The point is that if you want help, just ask nicely and don’t demand it. Someone will help you in a few minutes. But barging into any activity, PVP, PVE, knitting, poker, square dancing, thermal nuclear physics, whatever ... don’t start by telling all the people who are doing what they enjoy how stupid their chosen activity is. All you are going to get then is trolled and you’ll end up self fulfilling your own prophecy.

As for Cyrodiil specifically, just look for the biggest fight on your map, port there and spam some heals from the top of the wall. You’ll have Vigor in one night. You don’t even need a group or be able to actually help.

Anyway, I don’t think that joining a dungeon and spamming the chat about how stupid it is to run dungeons is going to endear you to PVErs so if you truly hate PVP, don’t make it worse on yourself. Just be cool and cool people will help.

Or you can just make a build that doesn't rely on vigor. None of my characters have any "survivability" issues that require me to get a PvP skill, of which I will NEVER PvP.

    My characters:
    Stamblade
    Magblade
    Stamden
    Magplar
    MagDK
    MagSorc

I've always wanted to create a character named "Just Here Until Vigor Unlocks" (or something similar) and LFG in Cyrodiil zone chat - strictly for the purpose of an in-depth social experiment

    It’s really not that bad.

Having a decent group helps, but you don’t even need to be yolo swag 1vX to be helpful.

Siege/Counter siege, repair walls etc. If you see a fight, jump in and help. There’s absolutely no penalty for trying.

Heck, you may make some friends. :)

"Literal ****tard LFG. Just want that dank vigor skill."

I mean, it made me lol.

Exactly. I took almost a full year break and within 2 days I saw about a dozen old friends just randomly throughout the world that waved hello to me. I’ve never met any of these people in real life and only know them from fighting in Cyrodiil. If you’re a cool person people will remember you and be happy to help.

I was completely lost when I started Cyrodiil about a year and a half ago and didn't have a clue how to find fights or what to do once I found them.

I found the guild I'm still playing with now by running into a group of players who seemed to know what they were doing and following them around because I lived longer when I was with a group that knew what they were, doing.

Very true. I started by diving in and going headfirst into an skilled emp group.

I got absolutely destroyed, but some other reds saw that I was trying and didn’t quit despite odds, Emp and numbers. They sent me a group and guild invite, and eventually led to dethrone.

I’ve met some really fun people in Cyrodiil!

People do notice things like this. If you want to find a group do good stuff and a group will find you.

Repairing doors, healing, rezzing people, forward camps, siege, or just generally not being a coward will go a long way. Heck, there are many fights that are essentially won because one person decided to YOLO into a group first and 10 more people follow.

I killed 6 people by myself yesterday who were ramming a door. I accidentally fell off the wall and said F it, and just attacked the attackers because I knew I could respawn. Luckily for me they were the 6 worst CP capped players in Cyrodiil and I melted them with nothing more than a pokey stick spam. You never know what you can do unless you try!

I've gotten Vigor on a couple of characters just playing solo. LOL. It just takes a little more time. But yeah, much faster if you're in a group.
