Question for Summerset Collector's edition owners

I just received my copy and it's so deliciously packaged with so many beautiful ES lore artifacts.

But errr, Mephala comes as two pieces. How did you put her staff in her hand? It is so tightly squeezed, that I'm afraid I will break it if I do it... :-/

Are you being facetious? Was it packaged poorly? (the first one I saw was)?

I'd happily pay an extra 3-5 bucks for appropriate protection of the contents. It is supposed to be a collector's edition, after all.

Like yours, my box was perfectly packaged with everything well protected.

However, it was difficult to fit the staff. I had to open the fingers out a bit and then push the staff in. I don't have the staff hanging completely upright, but it actually looks better angled slightly given the placing of the figure on top of a bookcase.

I just gently bend her hand open, it's a soft material so it has some flexibility if you don't go crazy.

Either push the thumb back or pull fingers out, then put the staff against the gap and push until it goes in. Then I just moved it up or down to get it in a position which seemed to look right.

Also there was no way at all to write that in a way someone won't make an immature joke.

Pry her hand open slightly just enough that you can cram the staff in. The statue is on the soft side so you shouldn't break her hand.

The base of the staff ends up at about a 10 degree angle to her hand but I assume that's fine/intended.

Thanks guys! I will try the first method of pulling the fingers out. At least it's good to know the material isn't brittle.

You could also try and warm it up a bit, either hold her hand in yours for a bit or pop it in the sun to warm up.

I'd say warm water as well but I don't know how well the paint will hold and don't want you to damage it.
