Question, do you buy items that are readily obtainable in game with crowns?

Examples include motifs or experience scrolls or vampire/werewolf bite. Things that are obtainable in game through gold/crafting but you chose to spend cash on it instead?

Sometimes although rarely. I've purchased some motifs. I'm not much on doing dungeons or "end-game" content so I occasionally will buy a motif. Not often though since, overall, not a fan of so much of the armor in this game. :/

I bought a vampire bite back when it came out and I MAY buy a house don't know yet depends on how long it's going to take me to earn all the gold needed as I mostly play solo content.

The PROBABLY up there being maybe a motif I hardly have any of and cannot find any pages for sale anywhere whatsoever that is on the Crown Store, for the sake of progressing Style Master for Grand Master Crafting.

Generally no, if I can achieve something in game I will work towards it.

The one exception to this however was I purchased the BA motif book when it was in the crates with gems.

I do use XP scrolls during character leveling to save on in game Perfect Roe, but those aren't bought but part of various free rewards, either directly or indirectly. Ex. as subscriber I receive a few crown crates every couple of months, and the duplicate cosmetic items and some various useless consumables are broken down into gems, and I buy more scrolls with those. Other than that, I scarcely buy anything with crowns. I've spent the subscription crown allowance on various upgrades, such as extra character slots (IMO the best investment), Imperial edition, any race any alliance, one character appearance token, a hair style pack that's really good value, and two crown store exclusive style books. In the future I may buy some of the crown exclusive houses.

I said other because I have but I'm usually choosy. I did get a vampire bite and a werewolf bite because I refuse to play another player to do it to me. In fact, I give the bites away to spite these other players. You should be treating fellow players with decency and not charging them in game gold (which they probably don't have much of, I have 2 max CP285 characters and I have very little money from having to respec them all the time thanks to ZOS' continual nerfs.)

I have also purchased some motifs that I have liked but usually don't do that.

Will I continue to do it. Really depends on what they are offering.

    Yes but never again

When Homestead first came out, I bought "Domus Phrasticus" with ESO+, Free Crowns.

I could have bought the home with in-game gold but, at the time, my "Gold Reserves" were not as healthy as they are now. I felt that they could be put to better use within the game.

As for the future, I really have no need to because both Gold and Free Crown accounts are looking relatively healthy.

mostly resounding no. with couple of exceptions. one of those being Buoyant Armitger motif. the other being Daggerfall overlook, becasue at the time i didn't have anywhere near almost 4 mil required. the only purchase I regret was buying a medium house becasue I was too impatient to finish achievement to get it. I don't regret motif or manor house. will i buy something with crowns that is available in game ever again? that depends on rarity. if its something like BA under similar circumstances (I would have bought that crate pack with or without BA in it, so BA was a very lovely bonus) yes. otherwise. i have gotten much better at making gold nowadays, so most things i'd rather just buy with gold from now on.

P.S. another possible exception is certain furnishings that are exceedingly rare so either unavailable or super expensive to buy from other players, but also decently priced in crown shop.

As I get crowns for ESO+, I might as well spend them on stuff. That's been only motifs so far, and that will likely stay that way.

No. Not because I have a lot of time, but because everything in the crown store is vastly overpriced considering game purchase and subscription costs. If things were 1/3 of their listing and I was allowed to buy the number of crowns of my choosing rather than inconvenient intervals designed to make me buy more than I need? Maybe occasionally. They'd definitely make more money overall with that approach.

If you ask in zone chat of zones with vampire/werewolf shrines, most players will offer you a bite for free, if you decide to make new characters.

I see absolutely no reason to by consumables, as there are equivalent items in the game. But if people choose to spend their money on them, then go for it.

The only item I have ever bought of this kind was the Harlequin motif, because it was Crown Store exclusive, and I loved the style of it - and with the outfitting system I have no regrets, because now I can use the motif whenever I want, and not just for crafting purposes.

(Edit: Oh, and I have also bought the island home back in the day - if that counts.)

I'm curious to know as to why you purchase all the motifs, not just the more difficult to obtain ones like some people have mentioned. There are many motifs that are very cheap and easy to obtain through dailies, killing world bosses etc. For me, that's something to do in the game and to have goals. What you do in your free time instead?

Whilst I don't buy all the motifs (and I do rummage on traders) I have TONS of other things to be doing; lore books, fishing, surveys, chests, questing, crafting etc.). In face I'm only just now finally not feeling like I've TOO much to be doing after coming back last autumn. Then again, I have alts so I guess someone with only one of two characters would feel quite differently.

    I compare prices.

If I can find it somewhere in game at a price that is reasonable I'll get it there. Granted since there is no global auction house system there's a very good chance I just skipped past that one 'guild trader' that had it... but I try...

If not, since I have ESO+, I just grab it with crowns.

Case in point is the crafting stations - I bought one or 2 in game, the rest with crowns. I've got 5 of them, and so I'm still working on filling out the list - but I keep them in my house so I can leave one alt in there that only exists for crafting. These stations are sometimes up at guild traders - and prices there can be pretty random... I think one of the ones I bought in game, I got at one trader for about 10% of what it was being for at another...

But many of them just weren't being sold anywhere I could find at the time I wanted them, so I just used crowns for it.
