Feelings about the Redoran armour and weapon style

As someone who decided to steep in the lore of Morrowind before buying the expansion, I was really disappointed with the new Redoran armour. While lore-wise the house Redoran is the most traditional, it doesn’t make sense to me that they would be the most changed in terms of design over the course of the games. The design also looks really lazy, as if no real thought was put into what was being made. The weapons all follow a two pronged design which is totally lazy and shows nothing of the house’s commitment to tradition, family and the temple. Perhaps the worst offender is the armour itself, being made of metal rather than chitin and looking more like a deliberate ant than a traditional armour made of chitin. I think that the armour should look more like these fan representations:

The weapons should also look closer to the ebony style, but maybe also incorporating the waved pattern of Ashlander and Dunmer weapons.

This style really had potentional but I think the devs blew it. I hope it sees a revamp sometime in the future. What do you guys think?

Considering a large portion of the game gives the middle finger to style and motif quality this isn't a big suprise..

And design in general. Everything looks like they tried to find middle ground between Skyrim and WoW in terms of aesthetics. I wish they would’ve kept it realistic-looking and not put in those cringey over-ecstatic gestures the NPCs do when talking.

They should just swap hlaalu and redoran around. Since hlaalu now looks like bonemold that redoran wore from morowind/dragonborn. And the current redoran could easily be passed off as hlaalu, with the more layered plate influences that would come from being a trading house.

Hlaalu is actually very similar to the Hlaalu armour in Morrowind (same with the Telvanni armour) which is what upsets me about the state of the Redoran armour.

I guess it just shows how little ZOS cares about their IP and their fan base.

That's the problem.. TES 3 and 5 are very solid games from top to bottom, where everything is made with subtle and deep insight.. ESO just throws a lot of things at you, some are great, some are mediocre, and some are ridiculously out of place..
