Magsorc sets choices

With acuity nerf. What would be a good choice for heavy attack magsorc? (No I don’t want force pulse build i have 2 perfected asylum inferno and i parse 10% less on 6 mil)

My thoughts are following:
1. elegance, but lighting staff is costly. I don’t want to throw gold in the water, i’d like to see elegance parse (front elegance back bar vma)
2. Burning spellweave, i wish i can find this staff, would love to see parse done by ppl
3. Moon dancer I could try this i guess.
4. Scathing mage / keep acuity (I doubt they are good)
5. Juliano / netch, not sure about this too, do i skip vma? I mean skip back bar 2 bonus for vma seems costly?

Try elegance set + willpower lightening staff + willpower necklace and 3 infallible aether + ilambris monster set + overload ultimate

Alternatively baharas curse set might be worth a look

Wtf is this math? You run 1 piece will power front 3 piece back? Your 10 piece from body + jewel is 2 illambris + 3 ia + 3 elegance + 1 will power? (or 2 will power and have 4/3 on backbar for willpower)?

I run 5 MD, 5 Necro, 2 Maw of the Inferno. Get more damage than I do with Illambris.

IA would not be a bad choice either. Since the Lightning Concussion nerf, the 5 piece comes in use.
    Active Toons:
NA - VilniusNastavnik - Magsorc DPS - Altmer
    NA - Ko'h Nehko'h - Stamblade Archer - Khajit
NA - Arwyn Winterlight - MagPlar Healer - Breton
NA - Urog Blackfang - DK Tank - Orc
NA - Elen Windsong - Stamsorc DPS - Bosmer
    NA - Eats-Strange-Fungus - Magden HealzTank- Argonian
NA - Harwyn Northwind - MagWarden DPS - High Elf
    NA - Raises-Many-Families - Necro HealzTank - Argonian

All the PTS testing I saw with elegance was less than impressive, but I havent personally tested on live. I think you have hit on the obvious gear combos, and they are likely all going to be splitting hairs.

I would only consider moondancer for a sustain heavy rotation. No good reason on a pet sorc IMO. I do think the stars have finally alligned to make this set usable in the right hands and the right group. You used to need a DW templar to pull it off, but now anyone can with a staff and jewelry. I like this idea because a set that only needs to be front barred is useful for sure (like acuity was).

Infallible aether (as someone mentioned) could be an option, but only one per group is needed. I think this could be really strong solo. Again, nice because only needs to be on one bar.

BSW and Mother's sorrow seem to be the new "meta" choices, but Julianos is certainly viable as well. BSW is spell damage heavy and MS is crit heavy, so you can make up for what you are missing by mundus. I saw an MS staff in training go for 440k yesterday, so maybe not the best immediate option. The drawback here is that in a perfect world, these would be double barred, and I dont think you should drop a VMA Staff backbar.

I think everyone is going to be running Siroria on just about every magic toon once people get their hands on it.

For what its worth in the meantime, I am going with Necro/BSW on my sorc and Julianos/BSW on my mageblade (front bar BSW staffs, back bar VMA) until the dust settles a bit. I think Necro/Siroria is your ultimate goal, but not totally sure on that yet. Again you have the problem of both wanting to be double barred if possible.

I don’t think magsorc can proc siroria enough. It’s direct dmg only. I doubt it can stack up fast enough. Also you use vma fire instead of lightning in order to run burning spellweave right?
