Not gonna lie, I'm not a huge fan of circles. But I prefer the circles to the maps I can't even put in my quickslots...
  • rliant1864
For all the ones I've seen so far, they made sense for that objective.
They're not panties, so it's not embarrassing.

You don’t have time to explore a small circle, seriously?

It depends on the quest, but some of the circles are getting a bit much.

I wonder why people like the OP play elder scroll games which have always been about questing.

you know there could be options in quests in settings.

    a) are you a lore lover quests are longer
    b) would you like a little of time saving and lore enjoyment.
    c) are you like *** and sick and tired of the bs could care less about the lore and just want to get back to killing high born *** in cyrodill.

The thing is some of the circles are fine "go to this area and find a quest NPC" others are bigger circles where you need to find something small and the quest icon only appears when you get within x metres of it.

I love the story and questing, I love puzzles, but the "walk around for a while looking for the thing you should click" doesn't interest me personally.

It's a matter of personal taste, I understand that. But it feels silly when you have to go find someone or something that is supposedly lost and all you have to do is follow a marker tbat shows you exactly where it is.
I would prefer no markers at all and you have to figure out clues. The quests in ESO aren't designed for that, so turning them off in this game is not an option.

Some npc moves around, other circles might be to find objects or kill enemies inside an area.
Objects tend to have their own markers too,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Circles aren’t that bad. It’s when the object isn’t actually within the circle that things get tiresome...

    *twitches*

Although there are also the ones where it's a circle so small it might as well have been a quest marker.

The circles make the game less "press E online". It is a good change for the overall experience. Especially for newer players, as they get into touch with their world instead of being conditioned to just look at the GUI and basically totally ignore the world.

I mean, what would be next? "Teleport to next quest step"?

Elder Scrolls always was a game about inspecting your environment. ESO already is a very basic version of that due to the linear questing and no real choices as well as zero physics and no real interaction with the environment besides pressing E.

So for me, that change totally makes sense in light of the brand TES.

So, you just want to be spoon fed the answers? Games have held people's hands for too long now. Even in vanilla WoW, you used to have to read the quests for direction. I like having something to look for. My only complaint with ESO questing would be a lack of direction sometimes.

The questing in this game has many issues, that isn't one of them imo. My main gripe about questing in this game is, they all basically follow the same 4 templates and almost all quests involve a lazy assed npc, with a named boss fight at the end. You know what's coming and what to expect. It's all rather mundane ***.

Don't get me wrong, there are a handful of semi interesting and unique quests lightly littered throughout the game, but they're too few and far between.
