It didn't help me either. Tried uninstalling this pos and that process is so difficult I am now stuck not being able to delete launcher which prevents me from completing the uninstall and that didn't work. I go to play it says install but it's not doing that either. Refund my money for the 5 and half months I have left as I cannot figure out a way to get in, as I have tried all the answers i have found. Nothing works.

Your loading issue could be caused by an add-on. To resolve this issue, uninstall your addons and try to log in again. To fully remove your add-ons, do the the following in this specific order:

1. Exit the game
2. Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live in windows explorer
3. Rename Addons to Addons.old
4. Rename SavedVariables to SavedVariables.old
5. Check in-game to see if the if the issues persist.

This is fundamentally self-contradictory advice, because it assumes we're already in the game rather than still attempting to download a patch. I tested it anyway. It of course didn't work.

To be clear -- the problem for many of us is that the launcher stops downloading anything. Since it won't offer a download, it instead offers to let us Play, and that goes badly. The crash is just a symptom. The root cause is that the download isn't completing.
