    About jewelry crafting?

You can buy a ton of white jewelry from the Mages Guild for 1,387 a piece. it took me 400 pieces to get to level 18 jewelry crafting, so its an expensive method. But if you have the money, you can get it done Day 1.

Farming/refining will certainly be longer than other mats, but I'll be frank here, is it really any longer than waiting for the Golden Vendor to come up with your desired set in Golden quality? I enjoy farming, so I'll have plenty of dust to refine and with the exception of golden jewelry (unless you spend AP, gold, or run trials), most of the improvement mats can be deconstructed pretty easily.

I agree. As much as the game can be a grind, ZOS are very receptive towards letting players gear competitively without requiring 12+ players to get. They added transmute stones to help switch traits during metas, they added interesting but very useful crafted sets, and now they added the ability to craft in jewels with 2h weapons granting 2 set pieces. It's very versatile now.

I don't disagree with the sentiment but it's got to be pretty challenging to create a variety of grinds that don't get boring after repeating them "X" times. Then you have to consider that a grind the you may find tedious, someone else may enjoy.

For instance, lots of people seem to enjoy fishing. Fishing seems like the most awful and boring grind imaginable to me.

Jewellry crafting is one of those skills that you should level up while leveling a new character, or playing new content.

Dungeon runs, decon all your gear you don't need. That includes jewellry now too.

This is one of those "base" game skills, best leveled up while making a new character, or chasing something else. And not something to have on every single character because of the prohibitive time.

If you've got a character with everything, focusing solely on this particular thing will be grindy, since you can no longer sidebar it while chasing other things.

@Rain_Greyraven, naw. Too much like work.

You should just open the box and inside are your achievements.

The analogy that fits for me is like being in a traffic jam. Does it suck to be there? Yeah.

Does it do you any good to be in a hurry? Absolutely not.

Because you have people on the forums and Reddit complaining about "Needing More Stuff to DO" or "Need more Content, more often" or "this DLC is too small, where's the rest of the content I paid for"

That type of stuff specific to this game since 2014 is why....

Was always fun in UO to come back and have been killed and all your stuff gone. Stop whining, just play the game and over time you're going to max everything out then complain there wasn't enough content.

Developers can't win. If they produce content that can't be finished in a couple of hours they're accused of money-grabbing by forcing a grind on players, if they produce content that can be finished in a couple of hours they're accused of money-grabbing by forcing you to buy something with little content in it.

First, no-one is forced to buy anything, and second no-one is forced to do other than take their time to play the game steadily and in a way they find enjoyable, so as to extract full value from it.

Tips: Disable any addons that show you where everything is, and just explore the new content and find everything for yourself. Run everywhere, don't ride mounts and pass everything by. Don't worry if you haven't mastered Jewelry crafting, got all the motifs and sets, and completed all the delves and trials, along with furnishing the housing, by tonight - it's neither a race nor a competition  !

Is there a deadline to complete the content?
Are there customers demanding to speak to a supervisor because of their unrealistic standard of customer servce?
Are you silently hoping for your place of employment to lose power and shut down for the day?
Are you staring daggers at that one people that came in literally 1 minute before closing and now have to wait til they're finished before you can leave?

    No.
You are playing a game with talking Beast people, Living Gods, and bottomless pockets capable of holding war machines, several pairs of clothes and enough crafting materials to fill several warehouses.

If you're finding the game to be a chore then quit.

It should be enough of a grind to keep the average player, who has been here since release, busy until the next dlc. Then when new content is released, it should be nerfed so that new players aren't essentially undone before they begin.

Did they ever nerf the timers gating advancement in TG and DB?

Everybody's talking about the grind to level Jewelry crafting here, but the biggest point of concern according to the PTS threads is that upgrading takes 10x the amount of mats.

I don't care that it takes a long time to level a skill, I care that it takes an estimated 100+ hours of farming to craft a single set of gold jewelry.

I saw someone earlier complaining that it took him 5 hours to max out the Psijic line...like, really?

Whatever happened to things in MMO's being accomplishments of some kind? Most things in this game can be grinded out from 0 to max within a matter of hours as it is, and I don't particularly like it it myself.

Would everyone really be satisfied if you could max everything in 1-2 days? What would you do then besides PvP?

As another previously noted, perhaps you could elucidate your concerns more effectively by identifying what part of the new content is grindy.

Additionally, I am surprised the OP is already complaining of grindy-ness as the content just barely arrived for PC today... (unless OP went through the PTS). I'm on PS4 so release is not for another two weeks or so.

Furthermore, I agree with the other responses that a grind is commonplace in the mmo genre, and that without it, there would be complaints that it was too easy or that there was not enough to do.

You must persevere to get cool stuff, or whatever it is you want...

    @DamenAJ

There's a big difference between No Grind and Too Much Grind. At the very least, jewelrycrafting fits into the latter category. There is obviously an upper limit to how much grind makes a game fun, and that system is well past the point.
