I vote NO simply for the fact that what you are suggesting is absolutely Pay2Win - no question.

So you want to be able to buy something that other people spend hours achieving (and don't start comparing it to other Crown Store items, because most of them are consumable one time uses, OR things that only affect crafting)? I don't even PvP regularly, but I would never want this to become a thing.

If you have an issue with wanting the achievements, but not wanting the PvP content, then maybe a better suggestion would be enabling some sort of PvE mode that made PvE players "invisible" to PvP'ers and unable to take part in any PvP content - so that the only thing available would be the dungeons and town quests. The answer is never "can I just pay my way out?"... SMH

Similar to my invisible wall suggestion. I also would love this concept. I just want to be able to wander these areas without engaging in PvP, I don't want the rewards for free that people who PvP a lot get. Honestly that was my biggest gripe about Cyrodiil from the beginning. I get lore wise why there should be PvP in the zone, the throne is up for grabs, it's a time of upheaval. I don't personally want hard rewards for nothing, I just want to be able to stop, enjoy the scenery and take a few screenshots without getting ganked. :P

I don't PVP either -- but I seriously do not understand the point of "permanently turning off the ability to enter Cyrodil."

Does anyone ever get there by accident? C'mon!

I have little/no interest in PvP (in all games, not just ESO) but I have to agree with the people who say this is pay-to-win and if you want skyshards and skills from Cyrodiil you should go there and earn them like everyone else.

And honestly I haven't found skyshard hunting to be that bad. I pick the lowest population campaign I can find (not that there's many to choose from), try to go during 'off peak' times when I can and check the map periodically to stay away from control points which are under attack as that's where the most activity is likely to be.

When I first went there I was making sure to stay off the roads, preferably near the edge of the map, using a dull coloured costume and mount (or no mount at all) to try and avoid being too noticable...then I realised if you're away from the fighting you can go for an hour or two without ever seeing another player without making a special effort to avoid them, so I stopped worrying about it as much.

Yes I get killed sometimes, but it's not a big deal. If someone attacks me I stand there and let them kill me, then I respawn and start over. It adds a few minutes to the process but that's all.

And I have actually had some interesting moments trying to cooperate with "enemy" players on PvE goals without killing each other. Doing a dolmen where you have to actually aim your attacks and think about who is going to get hit instead of just spamming everything to tag as many enemies as possible was surprisingly fun.

I probably wouldn't buy it because I'm cheap but the option isn't bad, no one is forced to buy it so PVPers shouldn't complain

Would you pay 2,000 Crowns for a token that:
    • Permanently turns off the ability to enter Cyrodiil
    • Gives you all the Skyshards from Cyrodiil & Imperial City
    • Unlocks all the Alliance War abilities

Note: please specify other for any disagreements over Crown cost or purchasable with gold, Account-wide vs. Character, additional benefits, fewer benefits, etc.

How about you just make a PVE variant of cyrodiil that's an actual zone instead of making me continue to do the tedious and pointless task ONLY because you don't ever want to PVP?

You can do all those things without getting ganged. It only requires you to be sneaky and smart.

Instead of just being that PvE guy that doesn’t fight back (pathetic), go and be sneaky about it... it’ll be the most exciting thing you do in ESO.

You mention lore, but then want to walk around the land free from any actual danger... comon man, just make it fun in your own way! Make it exciting! You can have a quest of your own, which is exactly what you said you wanted to do (take screenshots), and your goal is to not be seen by any war fighters.

Before I actually played in pvp (when I first started playing Age of Conan), I still thought the most thrilling part of the game was the thought that someone could’ve been sneaking up on me.

    No. Just no.

Just make it so that PvP can be turned on/off at each of the Alliance Bases. Cyrodiil is not just a PvP zone, so removing the ability to do PvE in Cyrodiil for 2000 crowns is a scam.

Same thing with not being allowed to enter IC, and somehow getting IC Skyshards without ever setting foot there.

The third suggestion is even worse, as those are things that you should do PvP and work for.

All in all, this suggestion is, imo, just terrible.

I don't enjoy pvp in MMOs. In my opinion, any PvP situation in which gear and the possibility of imbalanced stats enters the equation is inherently broken. Yes, this implies that most MMO pvp is inherently broken. It's why I keep my pvp-ing to games that are actually meant for PvP. Fight me.

Anywho, I tried going into cyrodil a few times, both for caltrops and the skyshards. Every time I've gone, I've gotten ganked pretty much continuously shortly after entering enemy delves. Eventually when I'd give up on the delves and try and do some actual pvping, I would usually wind up alone and not realizing where the flow of combat was, because the map is only so accurate and the area is gigantic.

TL; DR most PvE players don't find PvP fun and never will. The real problem that this thread underscores is that PvPers must do PvE content for certain benefits, and PvErs must do PvP content for certain benefits. A critical failure of the MMO industry is to try and push players into doing content they don't enjoy, and that extends far beyond this game.

There should be non-combat options for cyrodil, period. And no overland / dungeon / trial set should be BiS for PvP. To quote a famous 90s band, gotta keep em' separated.

NO for one big reason. You HAVE to enter Cyrodiil to access the gold vendor. No way I'm giving that up.

I've done all PvE quests and completed Caldwell's Gold. Collected all skyshards from public dungeons and delves. I have all the skills I need for combat and am a master crafter. I still have around 30 skill points still waiting to be used. I really don't need those extra skyshards from Cyrodiil.

I don't like PvP in ESO - it is really horrible - but I don't like the idea of this token either, because it would cut out a medium part of the game. I suffered once through Cyro to get the skills and some skill points, as well as all POI. I felt happy and that I achieved something (like finishing a chore), but I never visited Cyro since then (and don't miss it). Still, essentially just removing this part of the map would devalue player experiences.

I just want a white flag. I want to run through Cyro without killing or being killed. There are a bunch of quests I cannot do because I dislike PvP. Grumble. Give us a PvP-free version of Cyro and I'll be quite happy to let y'all go on killing and teabagging each other. That life is just not for me.

I don't like PVP,but would be nice to have a non-pvp version of cyro as an option.Maybe remove telvar,ap,becoming emperor, and quest/dailies that would be pvp specific,so ppl can't ease their way throguh it,or gain advantage without working for it.That way players can enjoy the game their way,and keep playing and recommending it to others.

Why not pay to do the same for pve ?

Reason ... It's a game ... You play as much as you can, hopefully enjoy all of it if not have enough to enjoy what you do for a long time

But buying part of the game to lock you out to gain perks for the other part is dumb

But then I'm thinking how many idiots would do this and miss out on catrops and vigor for their stamina builds ?

    Guard for thier tanks

Magicka hasn't got anything worth having outside of cyrodil

Just enjoy the game please ... Stop thinking of way not to enjoy it ... Besides it's amazing how much you might enjoy something of you actually tried it with an open mind

I honestly don't understand why so many players hate Cyrodiil so much. I'm not a PVP'er. I can't be bothered to change armor to go to Cyrodiil. I go in my light divines. :p As I said earlier, I have done everything in Cyrodiil (skyshards, delves, dolmens). I can even take resources by myself as long as no other enemy players come along. Sometimes when I am attacked, I die, and occasionally, I kill the other player. When that happens, I am like a child...........I get really excited........I killed someone, I killed someone, I killed someone!! lol But, most importantly, I find the whole experience to be challenging and fun. Sometimes, I will find a group to run with and take keeps. I fight, I heal others, I die, and I get back on that horse and ride back in to fight another day!

Once you are CP900 like I am, overland content is way too easy so I enjoy the challenge of PVP.

PvP is not a thing for everyone. There are those of us who like PvP when we feel like doing PvP'ing. Getting ganked in Cyrodiil is not how you get to like PvP, it's how you get frustrated enough that you make a PvP build and start ganking others.

I wouldn't because I already have unlocked all alliance war levels on all my characters & have most of the shards. Also i enjoy pvp far more than pve.

However.... if some players prefer not to Pvp then i think separate instance of Cyrodiil that is just pve is a good option. Have quests that level the alliance war skill lines but do not actually earn alliance war ranks. I do not think that any players should just get the alliance war skill points without earning them via pvp.

The faction base skyshards should only exist in the pvp version of Cyrodiil. .. just a little pvp incentive for the completionists :D IMHO these skyshards are the most fun to aquire in the whole game.

I had to lol @ the posts saying that pvp isn't fun because enemy players strike from stealth & are 'cowards' I imagine a scenario where the enemy player stands right in front of you, fully visible, & yells 'prepare for combat my good sir! I am about to attack!@#$'
