2 handed damage

from the patch notes.... Am I reading this right 2 handed weapons got nerfed in both heavy and light attacks? this is very sad.

Light Attacks with Two Handed weapons will deal less damage. Heavy Attacks with Two Handed, One Hand and Shield, Dual Wield, and Bow weapons will deal less damage.

    Yeah i have no idea what the devs expect from these things.. Staves are suppose to be light attack weapons and everything else is heavy attack weapons?

    I mean why who comes up with these ideas, i mean can't we just play the game our own way not the devs way for a change...

    They said basically that they want to streamline things so heavy attack = resource restore, light attack = damage and they want people to use light and heavy attacks rather than skill spam. And I guess they want to make all weapons equal in terms of basic damage, something like that.

    As far as actual damage numbers and DPS, meh. All I can say is I like to weave heavy attacks and will keep doing that. I seriously doubt this will change things in practice.

    Having a 300 ping time means weaving is almost impossible for me my skills over shadow weapon attacks because the ping times mess everything up.. so now i'll just be shooting my staff like a machine gun...

    Nerfing both light and heavy attacks for 2h weapons seems counter-intuitive to Devs professed desire to make 2h weapons a more viable option. Sure, now 2h weapons count as two items for set bonuses, but it seems fairly obvious that reducing basic attack damage for 2h weapons will reduce the overall dps output and viability of using a 2h weapon, rather than dual wield. As someone who loves using 2h weapons, this is disconcerting, and not at all what I was expecting with combat balance changes.

    compared to staff, it does have a much higher WD to it than say fire staff.
    Plus the passives give your heavy attacks splash damage.

    Either way, I think the change is being done that will make much more sense if ZOS ever lets us in on their future changes they are thinking about.
