The Ravage Potions

My friend and I were discussing this, and we were unable to find an answer in chat, and my google-fu was too weak, so I thought I would ask here. The potions of ravage health, ravage stamina and so on. What are they good for? Why would anyone use them? I know snakeblood can mitigate the bad effects of potions, but even so, why would anyone want to consume a potion whose sole function is to debuff your character in some degree? Is there some buff I am unaware of that goes off when one of your character's stats have been reduced to a certain degree? Are you able to toss these at your foes in PVP Final Fantasy chemist style? Why do these potions even exist? So far it seems the only function they serve is to give you more things to make during alchemy writs. I am most curious to know the answer to this.

Those negative effects can be utilized in poisons. The only reason to craft a potion with them is for purposes of a writ.

in Skyrim i had a character who turned himself into a lich using potions like this. i carefully fine-tuned a potion to bring my HP down to as close to 0 as mathematically possible, and then had that Restoration Resurrection passive bring me "back to undeath" near the end of the ritual.

but that was all silly RP stuff. i don't think it's useful in ESO at all beyong hitting Master Writ requirements.

Use them for RP i guess. You are a spy, you get detected, you drink a potion thats kills you or something.

Or if you dislike some player in pvp from another faction, you could always send them one.

I know people use Ravage health to use them in PvP when doing non PvP quest stuff. You don't always have Keeps to jump around and stuff.

When running a group of werewolves around cyrodiil you equilibrium then ravage pot when you are low health... feed the werewolves... then proceed across the map until you need to feed them again.

Man I miss perma wolf packs....

    I use them to:

    -Suicide in Cyrodiil/IC

-Proc some sets like Stormfist, Krag, Neren'eth etc in public areas where people spam their abilities cause it looks cooler than class/wep skills alone.

-Kill myself when a player hits me with a mudball or a new player spams heavy attacks on me to make them go "wtf?"

-I use them in fights to stress out the group healer because im a sadistic mean person and I find it hilarious.

You can use them in Cyrodiil when you are carrying a scroll to drop it where you die. For example in a house to make the enemies think someone overwhelmed you so they enter the house and get killed themselves.

thanks @geonsocal that's very kind of you to say, but it was the character's idea. he's all about gaining power for selfishness's sake, and after mastering Vampirism and Magery (the guy was unkillable if i kept my ghost shout in mind) he figured lichdom was the next logical step. he's a character that spans many TES games (he's in ESO too. not an ancestor; he decided to pursue the longevity he'd heard about regarding Telvanni mages) and if TES6 is in the future (after Skyrim, as is most likely) it's gonna be a real challenge to figure out how to keep him as a lich from early in the gameplay.

we imbued a phylactery and built a giant hidden vault for it; it was a whole big thing.

it was painful, but that dude's depraved. he probably enjoyed it.

During healer tests for my guild, occasionally a few of us will drink ravage health pots while at rakkhat
