Maintenance for the week of May 21:
• PC/Mac: North American and European megaservers for patch maintenance – May 21, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC)
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – May 21, 7:00AM EDT (11:00 UTC)
Why do people still order physical copies in 2018? I don't even have a CD drive.

Can you explain this then (and I'm not being difficult, I really don't know why the UTC clock on my PC says this):

It's not UTC, but the British time zone which has summer time. To get the actual utc you would need to disable summer/winter time.

Takes all day to download. If steam somehow fails (or you lose your account somehow) you lose your game. It did take me 3 days to download this game, but to be honest even buying "physical copies" doesn't actually come with the game anymore.
Story time!
So, many years ago I shared a computer with my brother, he bought half life 2 second hand with a burner steam account attached. I had no idea Steam would be a big deal in the future.. so for years I bought physical games that would automatically link to his account..... overtime it turned out that I played a lot more games but he would still occasionally play.
Then he inevitably moved out.... now I was still using his account but I could no longer know if he was using it at the same time. So I finally learnt that I could just go make my own account without needing another HL2 copy to get steam, look that seems dumb but I just didn't know you could do that.
I still had to log into his account to play games I physically owned.... I spent a whole day working out how to get access to my own games on my own computer... But I still can't load these games onto all the new computers I now own. I have basically lost access to my copy of Fallout New Vegas when our old computer died because Its on his steam account.
Now this isn't relevant here because this is an online game, but on Saturday the power went out, I happen to have a laptop so this wasn't a big problem but the modem went out so no internet. Every single one of my games on this computer (which is new) was bought on Steam... no power, no internet, no games. I went out the rest of the afternoon but came back to power... but the modem didn't work, apparently killed by the power outage.... I was then forced to watch the royal wedding as there was nothing else on, finished the book I was reading and spent 6 hours doing a 500 pc puzzle until the stores opened the next day to buy a new modem.
Tl;DR I wish I knew that Steam was going to be a big thing 15 years ago, I need to buy some physical games for this computer so I can play if the power goes out/internet dies.

Unless you're playing games by devs like Ubisoft, with an always online DRM you should be able to play all of your 'offline/single player' Steam games in offline mode.

Do Ubisoft still do that crap? I thought they gave it up after the Silent Hunter/Starforce disaster.
