If I found myself wanting to pay real money to get rewards without doing the relevant content, I'd start looking for a game I did want to play.

Paying to Win what, exactly? Does hitting Vigor automatically clear VMA as a stam char?
Oh, I know! How about all those times vet trial bosses immediately die as soon as I drop Caltrops?

I would pay MUCH more than that to be able to visit Cheydinhal, Chorrol and Bruma in good shape, as we can do with Anvil.

They could have done with settlements in ava location, how much I would like all the big cities as dlc "Gold Coast style".
    Cheydinhal would have been beautiful.

had to edit for Cost instead of Coast, same as when I write waist instead of waste or bought instead of brought or *** instead of sick, the usual.

edit2: and I'm so high I see now this thread has nothing to do with I was thinking, better I go to bed

though @ZOS, think about releasing Skingrad at least, I so want that!

Cyrodiil still has story quests to do, not to mention locking you out completely removes the ability to explore the zone. I'd rather there just be a PvE specific instance where there's no fear of being ganked or attacked.

    You sure are thin skinned.

I'm no expert at pvp but sometimes i like to hop there. Also the part of where you could be in danger while getting skyshards and delving or questing is ok.

Agreed but for everyone there are 4 skyshards that a real pain to get and its the ones locked behind the scroll gates for the two opposing factions.... its a nightmare as it requires keeps to unlock so you have to be on at the right time when your faction is able to push that hard.

Tbh...they should just move those 4 skyshards locked behind enemy gates too somewhere on the map, the scrolls are why people unlock those gates not the skyshards.. *sigh*

PVP is fun even with 300 ping.

Also I have waaaaaaaay too many skill points, that I don't even know why you would even want the cryodil skyshards... there isn't enough useful things to bother filling up with the skill points.

If it makes pve only players stop whining about this all the time, or potentially make pvp more competitive and serious without someone going on and on in zone about them just being there for caltrops and vigor, then sure. Go for it.

So you want all the benefits of a skill line without lvling it or playing the content? Yeah...no

But I can understand people who do not 110% want to pvp having to. To get some skills that are vital to builds (stam heal).

So....maybe in the future we will see some skills that are not tied to pvp and the other way around. We will see. :)

No....And I don't even PvP except once every blue moon (since starting playing a year and a half ago i clocked in a whopping 3 hours total) and even then I avoid other players like the plague.... so calling it pvp is pretty wrong then for me even when being in a pvp area. I simply don't see the point of paying to lock content I payed for and just get rewards handed over instead. It's just not about the carrot, but also about chasing it... as well... that is the actual game.

The emperor passives have long been removed. :'(

They should at least give us a +2% AP earned. (which ofc doesn't impact the leaderboard)

Add the option where I never have to farm a single dungeon ever again and I automatically get the set pieces I want for PvP, then I’ll say yes. Not to mention the undaunted, mages guild, and fighter’s guild passives.

Sounds ridiculous right? But that’s basically what you’re saying.

    pvp is fun...

i don't understand the folks that don't like it...just learn the pvp like you do pve!

as soon as i used a damage shield and respected the impen trait, pvp becomes 4500% more fun.

I tried it once with my crafter (around lv 450 by then), because a master writ required Noble's Conquest. After the initial quests I made my way to the sewers, only to get killed by one or two hits from behind while opening the door. Well, I tried again, this time successfully, and in that "base area" of my faction there were two or three guys, doing nothing. The first players I actually saw in Cyrodiil, besides the starting area. I then proceeded and made my first few whatever-they-are-called (the pvp currency), fighting against the enemy NPCs. On my way back I was just one or two rooms away from my "base", way in friendly territory, when someone from behind killed me with one or two hits.

So tell me, how is that "fun"? I voted "other" because I don't want to pay to get rid of some cowards and lose a lot of content in the process. Also I like to work for achievements, not to pay for them. For me, a game mechanic would suffice where the attacked char gets more or less immune for one or two seconds, so that we inexperienced pve "snowflakes" at least have a chance at getting our defense up. My crafter would probably get killed anyway, but at least he wouldn't go down without a fight.

Similar to gearing properly for PVE content like trials and vet dungeons; if you’re going to a pvp zone, you have to be built for it.

When there’s an opt-out for Undaunted Skill Line (in crowns) for PvP players then I might reconsider.

Full agreement. And for getting trial weapons (Maelstrom/Arena/Asylum) without wasting hundreds of hours on "learning mechanics" to finally play as music box

While I am exclusively a solo pve’r, I still think this is a bad idea. The pvp aspect of cyrodiil make contextual sense and I am not a fan of entitlement type things. Contrary to many popular opinions , no one said we can or should get everything in life. I like knowing there are things in this game far removed from me that I will likely never see because of choices made. Makes it feel more realistic in a sense.

I get that and will probably build a "crafter tank" for my purposes, I'll see if that makes any sense at all. But the question was "Why is it not fun?" And it is not fun and will not be fun, at least for me, when the only interaction with other players is being ambushed every once in a while by some cowards that are too scared for an open fight.

No, absolutely not. Paying $ for skill points and skill lines (without having to do anything to obtain the skill points or skill lines) is 100% unambiguously pay-to-win and a horrible idea. Just... no. If you want to get everything in the game, work for it.

Even then, some things you can never get -- like the Mages Guild skill points if you make a certain choice or the Morrowind/Summerset tutorial skill points if you started the game before then. Compared to that, Cyrodiil skyshards and skill lines are trivially easy to obtain.

the latter depends on how you play - if you assume add-ons, which show where those skyshards are, it is relatively easy. But if one does not use such add-ons, then it is a lot harder to even find them in a pvp zone.

Nay, but it's not a horrible idea to create a way for pure pve people to get the skill line xp another way, either outside of Cyro or in a non-pvp instance. At the same time you could add ways to get other skill line xp for pure pvp peoples. Maybe keeps that are specific fg/mg/et al. Perhaps IC bosses for undaunted. Just create some ways to level things that don't make you a waste of space.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know that. But I'm still not happy with the fact that there's quite a part of the game I effectively can't play because of other players acting like they do. As I said before, I want to work for my achievements. Simply going to the guild hall is not an "adventure" for me.

Sure. Let's also add Trial and Dungeon opt-out tokens that will grant all dungeon and trial weapons and armors full undaunted.

And while they implement that, we can also add opt-out tokens for:

    - lorebooks
    - skyshards
    - crafting
    - style motifs
    - recipes
    - harvesting

I've saved the best for last:

A Crown Store opt-out token that grants all Crown store items.

I really think you're on to something here.

Take it one step further: an opt-out for ESO as a whole. I don't like to have to play the game to play the game. This should ban my account and lead me to a random youtube video of someone loosing in ESO every time I try to log in.
