Does it only work at certain times of day? because sometimes it doesn't work, and sometimes it works.

Right now.. Using it doesn't open the portal.

It just turned nightfall when I logged back in... and the chest works. It appears that this public dungeon only works at nighttime.

I've had this same problem! Whenever I use the chest, nothing happens. I saw the portal open once, but that was the first time I ever saw it and at the time I didn't want to go in, but now it won't open. It should be accessible whenever.

I'm pretty certain I entered during the day. It just gets stuck and needs to reset unfortunately the reset of it gets stuck and you then have to get lucky and find an instance that isn't bugged.

Now that you mention it, I don't think ive ever tried to do crows wood at night.

But I did manage to do it during the day in beta. So I don't really know what to say. I personally think it is a bug, but you never know, maybe me being able to do it during the day in beta was a bug.

As soon as the servers come back up, im going to try going in at night (actually, that probably wont be a good test since the servers will have been freshly reset)

It's bugged because of population.

It has nothing to do with day or night. It's supposed to work 24/7.

Hmm.. well, that would have been cool if it had been a night time thing.

Honestly Zenimax should give a free month on top of the free month that comes with purchasing the game. Being an early adopter shouldn't reward you with wasting your free month on bugs and maintenance.

Games not even officially out yet people, stop trying to pawn free months out of Zenimax. Guess what, the "big" mmo before this, WoW, was buggier then ESO is now, for over 6 months, and honestly would have been on par with bugs now until late Vanilla, early BC. Bug happen in MMOs, because idiots dont have patience.

point is, when you are dealing with the heavy amount of code like a video game, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep all the codes from conflicting with eachother creating bugs. And each variable you add to that, every input makes the code that much harder to keep perfect. MMOs have anywhere from 100,000 - 1,000,000 inputs every second, every time you move in game, any time you click a button. that is another input into the game. you and the 40 others clicking on that dark elf to heal them made them bug out, whats the solution to fix it? reset the server. but if you interupt peoples gameplay for even a second to fix the bug for one person, everyone would complain.

Thus, in the end, stop trying to get free time out of the company when its not their fault the games popular and the popularity causes bugs that CANT be fixed due to the NATURE OF PROGRAMMING.

They will fix all the bugs in due time, they are working on it. This has been probably the BEST MMO Launch i have ever been apart of, and ive played pretty much every MMO since... well UO (which i believe was the first?) the amount of bugs Im seeing in this MMO are at the same severity from bugs in a 6 month old MMO.

Guess what, this is an MMO, if its too buggy for you, go back to your polished rehashed console game squel thats been given another shiny overcoat over the same coding.

I remember during beta that chest has never worked for me. But now it worked without problems. The only difference was this time I read a letter in mages guild about this dungeon. Maybe a hidden trigger? If you want to test it, the letter was lying on a table in the guild in stonefalls.
