Also, something to think about is disabling out of date add ons as new updates can also cause havoc with those.
Also a few of my GM's are suggesting removing all items out of Housing Storage Chests, just to make sure nothing comes up missing, as this has happened before.
Pray for only one server downtime!
Pretty much this. Not a damn thing.
ZOS should do more preparing IMO, to make the launch smooth.
1. Leaving launcher window open
From dead o'clock this morning (UK) probably gonna try this with maybe a few launcher restarts - just in case!
2. Getting enough sleep
Sadly not as I have bad sleep issues just now - lucky to get two hours on a good night
3. Freeing up a character slot to do the new tutorial
Done and done and a name 'reserved'!
4. Freeing up the inventory of the character who's going to do the quests
Starting new character(s). Have a lot of saved up jewellery that will not be deconstructable so might go sell it all.
5. Mentally remembering to unlock the Psijiic skill line as soon as possible so I can level that up (and do the wide-traveling intro quest) as I do the regular quests and exploration
On new characters do; Fighters Guild for intimidate, Mages Guild for persuade, Dark Brotherhood for blade and maybe some early Thieves Guild stuff - gotta check that. Oh yeah! Unlock psijic ASAP.
6. Updating Tamriel Trade Centre
I rarely use that and only via web pages.
7. Make sure I got enough water, cold 0% alc beers (health reasons), snacks, a book or something to do in server downtime.
8. Hang a note on door in the order of ' Enter at your own risk!'
For add-ons, you will usually get a LUA error in a window. If you read the error you will usually be able to find which add-on is causing it, and can disable it until there is a fix. The last few patches, most major add-on authors have been really on top of things and have updated their wares within a few days (Huzzah!).

Oh, you would think again if you were truly at launch date, they had to shut the servers off for a couple days because there was a major exploit where people would randomly log into other peoples accounts not purposely but whenever you logged in it would randomly log in to another account somehow. Didn't happen to everyone but quite a few it did.
